St John's - Villanova

Looking to make the trip as well. If we can win this game it will lessen the sting of the Asheville loss a bit.

Traditionally the Pavillion has sold out all of its games. Check on availability before making the trip.

They're selling student section tickets (their students are on break) for like 20 bucks on their website if anyone is interested. I think it's general admission behind one of the baskets.

"On offense, Jay Wright's team loves to take three-pointers and draw fouls."

God not the 3 pointers again...we are screwed.

Is your obsession with 3's why you have 3 in your handle?

They shoot 3's pretty well and we in the top 5 in the league at about 35% but are dead last in overall fg%. That tells me that they'll make 3's but will have a hard time besting you by chucking. Can't fear teams that shoot. I fear dribble penetration much more. It's the dribble penetration that sets up the 3's and causes all the breakdowns.

A win against them would be a great way to start confernece play. And, I don't thinnk unreasonable to hope for.

I agree and the UCONN guards last night proved that. They were great against Marquette and should have won.
Good guards can carry a team.

Uconn is a donut , there is a huge hole in the middle .They have greAT guards but they don't have any impressive bigs .

Well, one thing is for sure. If we do the usual and come out like slugs or someone who woke up at 3 AM and get down by 10-15 deep into the 1st half, we are screwed. We just filled a major hole at PG with Branch...the excuses are disappearing every week and even Sanchez may be back now. Go out and show we can beat the worse Big East teams. If we lose this game, it all but forces us to win vs. Cincy or G'Town which will not be easy. To tread water I really think we have to win against Nova then take 1 out of the next 2 games vs. Cincy and G'Town.

Decent matchup for us. Considering we rebound like the CYO teams that play at halftime at CA, their bigs are not too much for us to handle. Mouph is extremely soft and Sutton is not a BE player to begin with but does play hard. Even though they can hit 3's, they struggle off the dribble. Considering all of the hype surrounding Branch's defense, it will be embarrassing if he is not able to shut down Arch tonight who is considerably slower and a marginal BE pg, IMO. A very winnable game, but our performance this year has been so disheartening, who knows

Also, to sum up the state of both of these programs right now- Jeff Borzello of cbs has an article outlining his college bball games to watch for tonight. Florida Gulf Coast vs Mercer is listed with no mention of our game. Pretty sad.
