St. John's NY Themed Branding Change

I think achieving even modest success like a string of NCAA tourney bids, shpuld precede a campaign like this.

A string of NCAA tourney bids?
At this point, I would be happy with one

The point isn't really how many tournies, but the development of a successful program first. Claiming you are NYC's team when you can't put 10,000 fans into msg gives programs like Syracuse who in most srasons can fill msg 2 or 3 times per season the audacity to claim bragging rights
I agree. The best marketing is winnng. I also think they should really give incentives to students to attend games. That will help fill the seats and they become alumni and maybe long term fans. Re, the Redmen name,is we associated that name w winning and the Redstorm w loosing. Syracuse dropped Orangemen and didn't miss a beat. Hopefully Mullin will turn things around so the Redstorm will be tantamount to winning. IMO Crimson Tide is just as bad as Redstorm. It hasn't hurt Alabamas branding in FB. I am not a fan of political correctness. But, as they say, you can't fight city hall.

I think we should just change the name back to Redmen. It was only this politcially correct baloney that forced the change. The same political correctness that wants to take the Columbus statue down. We should just change the name back and tell the politicians they can go you no where

Less than zero chance of that happening. Since most of our players are black, changing the team name to black men would have a better chance of happening, as ridiculous as that sounds. No it really wouldn't.

The same political correctness that wants to take the Columbus statue down.

Read a real book sometime and not these stupid discovery myth children's ones and you'll find that Columbus was one of the world's all-time evil assholes. Any statue of him should come with a plaque stating so.

With all the fake news around today right in front of our eyes why should I believe what anyone has to say about a man who has been dead for what about 100 years? ;) :)

Actually he died in 1506 - maybe we should give him a break - 511 years ago.
all the best
