Jackson is a really good guy. He would do very well working a room and fundraising. Plus he has NBA connections from working in the 5th Avenue office, and his time coaching the Knicks.
Mullin must also be familiar with him. And that is important, because it looks like the athletic department makeover will center around Mullin as the centerpiece. All the successful programs use its marquee coach in that capacity.
I really love the way Gempesaw is thinking. He is going to strengthen the University's biggest asset, the basketball program, first. This gives SJU a nice outward appearnce to the masses. After that, work on the other aspects of the school.

And you're right. Along with Mullin the 2 of them could bring fundraising to a different level and he could probably do wonders outside the direct sju community too with his connections to big money people
