Extremely disappointing game. Agree with most posters on here. We are not a smart team. Too many instances of one guy trying to beat Pitt as opposed to playing solid team ball. Pitt created open shots with dribble kicks. We don't do that. Phil Greene kept us in for a bit but fell off after his heat check. We are on NCAA life support right now. The coaching staff has got to figure this out. I feel like other teams get their guys in position to shoot open jumpers and we are always fighting for something contested or under duress. Tough to watch
I've noticed that D'Angelo doesn't play well at MSG. I thought Lavin stubbornly left him in too long.
Lavin needs a high IQ PG to have any success with his style of play.
Very disappointing effort today knowing everything that was on the line. This team is not ready. The mental effort is just not there because they have much more talent than a lot of their opponents.
Glad to see we've mad a jump from last year. Just disappointed that we don't play smarter.

NIT means nothing. It's an embarrassment if anything. This is a team with great recruits, and a great coach in the basketball mecca of the world on the biggest stage. We deserve MUCH better. This program has been terrible for too long. Just when you think things are due to change finally, they revert to how things have been. All the top level NYC talent leaves us in the dust (except Harkless) for teams like Pitt, UConn, Cuse, Cincy, etc. Just another team that flirts with you then rips your heart out. Unless Sanchez somehow gets cleared for next year, Harrison improves DRAMATICALLY, and Hooper is the real deal, then I'm not even confident we make the tourney next year either.

I am kinda getting the feeling that at this stage of his career Harrison is a little like the NY Yankees hitting. Feasts on poor teams and is terrible against anyone that is decent. But, I would not want to not have him. I just think it is obvious he needs to get better and is in no way ready for the next level.
The team has not played well without Branch, so I think he's a key guy. If he can come back, then maybe we can make an NIT run to make it a respectable year. He certainly is key next year. I think he is a true PG and that he is someone who can run the team while also being the other scoring option we need.
Basically a horrid performance after the latter part of the first half, especially with everything to play for at home.

i say what i believe anyone who thinks this team is winning the last three games needs a shrink. this team is going to nit ill put my money down for anyone willing to take that bet . im sure no one will step up and take it

We were in the bonus with 12:51 remaining in the second half, yet we took jump shots. How about driving to the basket. Oh I forgot we don't really have any offensive sets other then freelance play. Why keep Sampson and Bourgault on the bench in the second half? I don't care if Jakarr was off, he still is one of our only scorers. It is so obvious that Harrison is not going to make shots on his own.
You watch other teams set picks all over the court and continue to pick until someone gets free for an open shot. Most of our shots are forced, again we have no offense just freelance dribbling killing the clock.
We are ripe to be annihilated next Saturday at Providence.

easy i asked what seed you think they will get in nit. you dont need the teams for that
A high IQ point guard (whatever that is) to do what, exactly? To play man instead of zone? To look at the other team's stats and tape, realize that they have one offensive threat and take him out of the game instead of letting him go for a season high? To put Bourgault in the game down 14 under 5 minutes instead of Obekpa? To design and run plays that don't exist? To get D'Angelo to be a team player?
The fact is that there is plenty of talent on this team. In fact substantially more talent than Pitt. We didn't lose the game because Phil didn't play well at the point. In fact he was our best player today. The game was lost because we played a team that has a system, runs it well, and took advantage of every mistake we made. It was well-prepared for the zone and sliced it up every time we showed it.
It is great that we bring in talented athletes. It is true that some of them do not have high basketball IQs. But at the end of the day, that isn't why this game and a few other winnable games went south.

WTF will we ever be a top team? In our biggest game of the year we get blown out.
Took a 31-30 lead lthen pitt finishes on a 33-14 run lol, they are a joke sorry.
Yeah and Harrison is our top scoring and he goes 1-12 and misses on a pair of FTs
So on to next year, where we say once again "oh maybe next year". like we say every freaking year.
So lets take a look at who we have coming in next year. Lawrence? nah he`s going to cincy, Jordan? I bet he goes to Temple, Sanchez? Oh he might MIGHT be able to play so yeah lets all get freaking excited because he MIGHT be able to play. So I see GG and Hooper as the only new guys coming in and can`t get all excited about them like they`ll be our saviors.
So will we get 17 wins? Tell tell ya the truth I could see them losing the remaining 3.
I`m sorry that I`m in a miserable mood but to get blown out in our biggest game of the year on our court really really bothers me and we`re not winning 2 of our last 3.
I`ll see everyone in October I`m done.
