SJU vs Pitt Game Thread

Have a bad feeling about this game, but man I hope we win it. For once in my life it would be nice to see one of my teams actually get on a hot streak at the right time.

You guys were lucky to be alive at a time when SJ was a true blue blood program when winning a title was not out of the realm of possibility. Since I've been alive it's been failure almost every time. Like the Mets some teams just seem to have a black cloud over them no matter what. Hope this team proves me wrong and somehow shocks everyone. No need to be arrogant...be grateful. You lived through the times many SJ fans my age would die to see.

Moose graduated in 2004 so I am not sure why you are referring to him like he can tell you stories about World War I. We are only a couple years older than you.
He was literally referring to two years ago when STJ beat like a million ranked teams including a top ten Pitt team.

The wonderful run Jan 3 - Feb 26 2011 when we beat # 9 G'Town, # 9 Notre Dame, # 3 Duke, # 10 UConn, # 4 Pittsburgh, # 15 Villanova. Mighty stuff!

Well I know many posters here are double my age if not older. I remember 2 years ago vividly seeing SJ everywhere in the media even being discussed as an elite 8 or final four threat. Those players are gone, and that was 1 year. It only ended in a 1st round departure. It just bothers me when people are saying "we should strive to be better than Nova" when most of this forum would be out partying if SJ did half of what Nova did in the past decade. Final Four in 2009...the last time we went to one was 1985 (the year Nova won it all).

In the past decade Nova has made us look like DePaul when compared with them. How can you even argue any different? I would LOVE to go to the Final Four and have 7 tourney appearances in 10 years.

Joe I'm having a difficult time following your logic. Who gives a damn what Nova, or any other school for that matter, has done over the past 10 years? Most of us care about what we're going to do over the next ten years. Two years ago the team provided us with a lot of thrills and made the tourny. We all know the reasons why last years team failed. This year we're a bubble tourny team. We are where we are and IMO and that of many others, we're headed in the right direction. Whats your connection to the school again and how long have you followed the team? I only ask because many of your comments make me wonder if you're truly a fan.

I like them. My son and I are in Sec. 106 and just noticed the unis. Feeling good about this one today.

Bourgault tends to have a lot of his shots to rattle in and out.

Not the best start for us, but still a ton of time left in this one.
 
I LOVE our jerseys! So much sharper to the eye. Not too much, but got some flavor now. I'm sure the players dig them.

Because you are a negative Nellie who freaks out at every opportunity. Can you try to relax and enjoy the game and post every 15 mins instead of every 15 seconds?
 
Pointer got lucky on the blocking foul. He was kinda out of control, and it could've been a charge and a turnover.
