SJU vs Pitt Game Thread

Does it really matter if he starts? He could start, pick up 2 quick fouls and be on the bench. I like the lineup with 2 legit 3 pt threats on the floor, if CO starts it probably means Marco sits. Either way CO will get his minutes.

oh and I'm guessing this game is a pk

We'll be at least 5 point dogs.

Have to disagree, I say Pitt- 1 or -2 the most.

Yeah I was gonna say we will be +2. They have laid a few eggs recently.

Anyone who thinks that St. John's should be anywhere from a pick to 2 point dogs at the most should honestly never gamble ever again and has no clue how point spreads are set. Pitt will be a minimum of a 5 point favorite and probably around a 7 point favorite. Now that does not mean the oddsmakers are right, they have been underrating this team in my opinion for a while, especially only having them as a 7 point favorite against South Florida. Hopefully, Vegas is wrong again and SJU finds a way to beat their toughest opponent left tomorrow and wins outright even though they will be at least a 2-1 dog on the money line. Finally, I hope most of you don't bet on SJU tomorrow thinking the line is too high because if you all look in the mirror you will realize you are usually wrong when you bet. Don't be the mush that causes SJU to lose this vital game, lol.

7 it is.

If getting 7 or more I'm placing a call to my local umm wager consultant

I'm surprised, 8-6 team in the league a 7 pt favorite on the road vs. another 8-6 team. I don't remember seeing that before.

The other 8-6 team beat G'Town by 30 and su by 10.

Yes, but they've still lost six times in the BE. They're not world beaters every night, regardless of those two impressive wins.

Have a bad feeling about this game, but man I hope we win it. For once in my life it would be nice to see one of my teams actually get on a hot streak at the right time.

You guys were lucky to be alive at a time when SJ was a true blue blood program when winning a title was not out of the realm of possibility. Since I've been alive it's been failure almost every time. Like the Mets some teams just seem to have a black cloud over them no matter what. Hope this team proves me wrong and somehow shocks everyone. No need to be arrogant...be grateful. You lived through the times many SJ fans my age would die to see.

Moose graduated in 2004 so I am not sure why you are referring to him like he can tell you stories about World War I. We are only a couple years older than you.
He was literally referring to two years ago when STJ beat like a million ranked teams including a top ten Pitt team.

we are +6 on my site. I have a weakness from betting on all my teams. I carry a sterling record on all other sports so i am afforded that luxury. ill be at the game and probably paying triple the price for my ticket when you factor in the 100 bucks im putting on the moneyline for us.

Well I know many posters here are double my age if not older. I remember 2 years ago vividly seeing SJ everywhere in the media even being discussed as an elite 8 or final four threat. Those players are gone, and that was 1 year. It only ended in a 1st round departure. It just bothers me when people are saying "we should strive to be better than Nova" when most of this forum would be out partying if SJ did half of what Nova did in the past decade. Final Four in 2009...the last time we went to one was 1985 (the year Nova won it all).

NCAA Appearances in the past decade (since 2003)
Nova: 7 (about to have 8 now)
SJ: 1

Last Final Four
Nova: 2009
SJ: 1985

Championships
Nova: 1
SJ: 0

In the past decade Nova has made us look like DePaul when compared with them. How can you even argue any different? I would LOVE to go to the Final Four and have 7 tourney appearances in 10 years.

Call me the eternal optimist but I like our chances today.... Alot! We need to get out and run as much as possible and turn our d to o! I don't see us playing alotnof match up zone today, leads to too many 2nd chances..... Hard man, turnovers, score in transition!!! We win 56-50
