Last time we had a defender as good as Aaron Scott was Justin Simon. That’s a high bar but look forward to watching Mitchell play for us and judging for myself. Just my opinion but have never believed that you can judge a players defensive ability by stats and Scott is a perfect example of that.

Posh in his first 2 years was stuck to his man like a dog and his bone. We forget so quickly was a great on ball defender he was.

Posh had very quick hands and was a good defender when he wanted to be but also often failed to close out on three point shooters. Simon always got the assignment on other teams best player whether Howard from Marquette or Miles Powell. There was a reason he was voted Big East defensive player of the year by Big East coaches. Not saying Ponds wasn’t good defender but he wasn’t better than Justin which is why I referenced Scott being our best defender since Justin.

Simon was much longer and taller then Ponds and Posh. Although both could be pests.

Sense Mitchell and Sellers will be first of the “haul group” to pop to SJU soon after their visit. It was pretty obvious from multiple angles, when Mitchell entered portal, he was going to be a Johnnie.
