To be fair, a lot of talk was that he could've played this year but decided not to. Fair to judge what kid of person would take $700k and bail on his team, but don't think health is an issue. He tore his ACL, which is kinda the basketball equivalent of Tommy John surgery for pitchers. Pretty routine, not exactly a career ender in this day and age.

Bingo. I wouldn't say he was the sole person making the decision. Lots of people were factors.

That may make it worse for me. Does not show a very high character. You're being paid to play, if you choose not to play, don't take the pay

1) Hopkins ....Money will(should) be close he wants to understand the plan for him. Cooley focusing on usage and Rick will preach how his system and role will translate into next level. especially if RJ returns. Everything being equal he wants to be a SJ....but not sure how iit ends up. The Ark info was silly....
2)I'll leave Mo out of convo....they are being patient and waiting on 2 specific potential PG to enter...they are doing due diligence and laying groundwork in case either don't
3) The Freeman kid Big McD is getting is good.....really, really good
4) RJ.... this kid is everything that's right. Hes a good student, great with the media, ROC loves him. Hes as polite to the jaintors as he is stars he meets. Root for this young man. I already posted they and his fam want the league but its doubtful hell get the assurance he wants. Money will not be a factor if he comes back to SJ. He is the biggest recruit ...by far.
5) Matt is really good at his job. Hes clear, persistent and direct.

#4… RJ we want you back.. one more year under Pitino tutelage. You’re a Top 15 pick
 
Wouldn’t surprise me if our starting PG comes last. Get the other pieces in place first and then show a kid “look at all this talent come run the show.”

I don't have an opinion on this either way, I just don't know all of the facts. Obviously the scenario you are laying out doesn't sound good. But I do trust the staff to make the right call.
