I think if Duke is involved it's because there is concern that Lucas is going to steal the Boozers.

Great academics obviously and always a shot at FF, but I'd be super wary without guarantees if I'm Lee.

I'm biased, but Lee doesn't need guarantees here because he's the only real PG on roster if he comes.

Do you think Lucas could pull that off?

Nobody on the Canes forum I frequent thinks the twins end up in Miami.

The Columbus connection runs deeeeeep at UM. So that could potentially work in their favor. There was some buzz about the twins being interested when Laranaga was HC, but nothing substantive.

That'd be HUGE if Lucas pulled the twins.


Circling back to SJU targets, we all appreciate that gem you dropped about Lee visiting. Stoked for the weekend.

I can’t see it. I don’t have a recent source or anything but got a friend who’s close to the fam and we were talking about it back 2 years ago and he said it was a done deal for Duke then. That was pre NIL era but their ties to Duke are strong.
 
I don't want to be that grumpy middle-aged guy who doesn't ever believe teens . . . but I'll believe them more a month and a half from now if they are still Duke.

I do believe they are still Duke by the time any Lee visit happens though, which is why he needs some guarantees from Duke. Then again, he's a senior, and they are Duke, so what actually happens if they went back on any guarantees?

Me, either. I don't think it happens, and neither do the Cane fans. Would be absolutely insane if Lucas pulls that flip off, though.
 
the boozer twins aren't going anywhere. Not only are they all in on Duke, but their dad is definitely pumped up to be a fixture at all the games at the place he played. Will be fun for them as a family to be in the spotlight all next year.

Which is why I think they aren't a real player for Lee. Cayden Boozer is a PG and that is a crowded backcourt even before Cayden steps on campus.

To me, this is and has always been Florida vs St. John's

A NC is the only thing he craves, nothing else matters.

The Boozer visit 26 years ago was P-A-I-N-F-U-L.

As far as the targets this weekend, while visiting MSG, I would ask them to close their eyes and picture what NYC will be like if the Johnnies are the number 1 ranked team next year, and even more so, the NCAA champions. It will be nothing any of them (or even us diehards) could ever imagine -- but it would be a very real possibility the #megahaul. Go Johnnies!!!!
