Paultz is the Hemingway of LMFs
"Cliff committed to St. John's. He signed a letter of intent as if he were signing a warrant for a man's arrest. He breathed peacefully as each letter made their way in cursive onto the document. He looked up and smiled when it was done. That afternoon, Cliff drank absinthe at the cafe and told stories to his friends of haughty women and weak men. And he was happy."

Then in true SJU tradition of “not getting good things” ran into the portal on Union Turnpike again trailed by a screaming Matt 😎

“Not an Abdelmassah fan…”

At least to me, that is rather obvious.

The points and observations you are raising though I understand. Coming from a non Abdelmassah bias either way, I am taking a wait and see approach but haven’t been impressed either.
Let me clarify, I don’t know Abdelmassah and maybe saying I am not a fan was poor wording. Like Jack Williams’ opinion of Clingan being overrated, which I agree 100% with, from my perspective that type of statement needs clarification. Clingan is a good college player but many consider him to be much more than that, I don’t.
So with Abdellmassah, I just don’t see where he is this amazing judge of talent; maybe I’m wrong but I just don’t see that track record. I would like to be wrong but I don’t have a warm and fuzzy that SJU is operating right now with a definitive approach with players identified throughout the year, which is exactly the point of hiring an Abdellmassah.

I don't want Matt A shopping for the groceries or cooking the meal. He just has to carry the purse and let the groceries know what's in it.

As it happens, I have a pool table in my living room. I've never played, of course. But if you want to come over and teach me the game - with a little money on it to make it interesting, of course - I would definitely consider that. And provide the adult beverages.
Well, you are either world class or never learned the lesson not to mention money until you have seen a cue in someone’s hand to see if they know which end strikes the white ball. 😜

Well, they are overpaying him then because that is not a job, certainly not a full time one. That position was necessary if you played that game a couple of years ago but not anymore.

Cliff is a no-brainer.

But if we're in the early innings of portal mania, shouldn't we wait on a PG and see who comes out since that's now our biggest need?
As has been mentioned by another poster, we have been led to believe by the “in the know” guys on the site that through out the year, the staff had a line on top guys they were interested in and knew were coming out (not out of the closet 😂😂😂). But so far the only player that looks like we had a good line on was Cliff. The rest looks like a crap shoot, even a PG which is surprising.

It makes sense though. Not easy to agree on NIL $ early when there is so much uncertainty at what else is available from both team and player viewpoint.
