Wow that is unusually early for a JUCO to pop. We don't really have that luxury being so close with some elite guards. You don't want to scare off a kid like Briscoe for any JUCO regardless of the talent.
Lavin must recruit both quantity and quality this recruiting cycle since St.John's will have at least 6 available scholarships this year.
Because Briscoe is believed by many to be a spring commit Lavin cannot hold off seeking commitments from other recruits.
Given the fact that over one third of the top 100 seniors high schoolers in this 2015 cycle have already committed then it is likely that Lavin will be required to recruit in the secondary market for junior college and transfers again as he did last season when he struck out for his top high school recruits in the 2014 cycle.
Have you given any thought to applying for now vacant personal assistant position to work side by side with Lavin Otis?
Exactly. He makes assertions like he is part of the staff, “He must do this…” or “He has to do this…” or “He can’t stuck like last year…”
Oh really, he does? Says who? Chris Monasch? His analysis assumes all of these factors and then draws the most ridiculous anti-SJU conclusion from it before anything has occurred and then insists he is a good fan who is just voicing his “opinion.” So almost 1/3 of top 100 recruits have committed WHICH ALSO means that more than 2/3 have NOT committed.
The recruiting period is over is not true. Recruiting goes on all the time and kids for 2015 can sign thru next spring and summer. Evaluation may have ended for the summer but recruiting continues and kids signing does not start until November. He seems to confuse those as well evidently in his attempt to show how committed a fan he is.
Fordham.....take a few deep breaths. Otis really seems to get to you. It's okay if someone has a different opinion. Also, Steve Lavin is a big boy with a multi million dollar contract. He can take the fan's critical analysis. He knows it is part of the job.
