NEW YORK -- Marcus Hatten was alone on the court with 19,610
people.

The St. John's senior was fouled with no time left on the clock
and he stepped to the free throw line with a chance to give
struggling St. John's an upset of Duke (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today, No. 6 AP).

With the sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden silent, Hatten
made the free throw to cap a 12-0 run and give the Red Storm a
72-71 victory that snapped a four-game losing streak.

Hatten had 29 points, including 16 of the last 22 for the Red
Storm (13-12), who held the Blue Devils scoreless over the final
four minutes.

What I remember most was the smile on his face knowing full well he was hitting the first foul attempt.....priceless. That's #1 in my books!

Season ticket holder 1977 - 87. Class of '80P

Being the no 1 team in the country for 5 weeks in 1985.

Mar. 1979 making the NCAA Tourn as the last team in and beating Duke at the buzzer to go to the Sweet 16 then beating Rutgers at the buzzer to go to the Elite Eight.

Many great wins over the years, especially prior to 1995.
If I had to name one, it would be beating #2 North Carolina in the 1969 Holiday Festival. #1 UCLA won the other semi-final game, but I can't remember who they defeated.

Not sure if this is gonna work. If it does, this tape includes the 2nd half of the 1985 SJU-CUSE OT game at MSG, Super John's retirement at Nassau Coliseum, 1st half of SJU-GT at Cap Center and, if you're lucky, some inadvertent porn as a bonus.

OK well that didn't work. One more try

If you're able to upload a tape onto the internet you will have have made the greatest leap forward in communications since Marconi stole the idea of the radio from Nicola Tesla.

Had VCR tape converted to DVD. Downloaded(or is it uploaded?) files to my PC. Trying to upload to the site, but just realized it's a VOP file which is to big to upload. I'm pretty clueless about this kind of stuff.

Class of '75 (Season ticket holder since 1971)

Would agree with many of the games already mentioned.

Here is one that hasn't been that I attended.

In 1975, St. John's beat # 6 Tennessee (featuring Ernie and Bernie) at Alumni Hall.

Also attended all of the games St. John's played in the 1973 Holiday Festival which we won (beat a South Carolina team featuring Kevin Joyce and Brian Winters in the finals) Billy Schaeffer was named MVP.

While it wasn't a game, a great memory is when both Frankie Alagia and Beaver Smith announced they were going to play for St. John's.

That was pretty big news back in the day as both guys (particularly Frank) were heavily recruited.

Yeah, I was making a joke, because I hate Italians. I'm a bit of a tech ignoramus myself but you could upload it to dropbox or a similar site and share the link. I assume by Super John you mean Wadd, make sure and CC me if you do.

Yep, Holmes. Thanks, will do.

I was 13 and this game/season that ended with the NIT that will always be real to me was pretty much what convinced me to go to SJU.

Beating Villanova in the last minute the season after they made the championship game against UCLA. Howard Porter was gone, but they still had 2 future pros on that team. Only time I remember having to sit up high in the red seats. Watching double or triple headers at the Holiday Festival at MSG. Cutting class in high school and hanging in Alumni Hall all day watching pick up games, waiting for practice to begin, just to get a glimpse of the incoming freshmen.

My parents met at SJU. They are both alums, and got married in the chapel on campus (of course, the church can consider them excommunicated now, but that's another story).

I have a ticket stub from a game that I apparently attended when I was six months old (no, I don't remember it), so I've quite literally been a fan my entire life. My first real memories were when Jayson Williams was the star of the team, I think I was 6 years old. The only time that I was not regularly going to games since then, was the four years I was away at college (but, I went to a college that plays Division 3 sports, so I was still an SJU fan, first and foremost).

My best memory is an easy one. Missing four days of high school in 1999 to follow the team to Orlando and Knoxville for the NCAA Tournament. To this day, I don't know how I passed all my courses doing that.

Many choices for second favorite. My first road trip, to Georgetown in 1990, which we won at the buzzer. The 2000 Big East Tournament title. The Duke game from Lavin's first year.

Drove up to Springfield, Mass with about 5 of my friends for the Tip Off Classic for the 82-83 season and we beat N Carolina 78-74 in OT. Carolina had M Jordan and Sam Perkins.
