My two favorite live games that I attended were the 84-85 game against Cuse. Down the whole game by double digits, we made a furious comeback in the last 4 minutes to tie the score. Walter hit a jumper from the top of the key(a rarity!) at the end of regulation to send the game in to OT. Pearl, who almost single-handedly carried Cuse, just missed a jumper at the end of OT which would have sent the game in to double OT. The other game is the 2000 Big East championship game vs UCONN. The Hardy game against Pitt gets honorable mention.

For some bizarre reason my favorite game was December 1984 at the Garden against UCLA. It was the first game after the loss to Niagara and UCLA had Sophomore Reggie Miller. We won 88-69 and I still remember a Willie Glass dunk like it was yesterday. I was with my brother who I don't get to see very often.

My second favorite game was the win that season in Georgetown which I watched on TV and rivals any game of any sport that I wasn't at.

Beating #1 ranked Michigan with Cazzie Russell.

Winning BE championship with Ron Rowan's jumper putting us ahead by a point & Berry's block of Pearl's last shot.

A loss.
1999 SJU/Duke.
Most intense game I've ever been to. Heart rate still not the same.

Class of 1987

2000 at Duke- Bootsy with the game winner and 1991 sweet 16 in the Silverdome over Ohio State

Will never forget that night. Was stuck going to my then Gf's Dad's 50th bday party at the Short Hills CC. Ah the stupid things you'll do when you're young and in love....and getting laid on a regular basis. Had a friend VCR the game for me and leave the tape at my building for when I got home. Avoided hearing the score. It was easy then with no cell phones. Just needed to keep the car radio off. Got home about 2:00AM and watched the game. Needless to say, I was screaming my lungs out at 4:00AM. One for the ages!

Class of 2013

When we beat number 3 duke at MSG. That was the craziest year ever, 11 big east teams made that tournament. I remember Dr. Romero ( Abnormal psych professor) , flipping out and canceling his last two test.

Getting older all my favorite moments kind of get blended in. All those wins Lavin's 1st year at MSG. The Sly Fox bus trip to Nova that year. My first SJU game ever in 87 at Carnesseca against Providence. The year my friends and I went down to Gtown and Boo Harvey won it on last second shot when we were down the entire game and ended up having Barry Milhaven play center because everyone else had foul trouble

The day Norm finally got fired

Class of 1985

Beating Boston College at MSG in 1984. Important to me because I attended the game with my older brother who was in Law School at BC at that time. Finally, bragging rights!

Having my graduation ceremony in January of 1985 interrupted with the announcement that we were now #1 in the polls. We had defeated Georgetown the Saturday before. The whole place went crazy when they told us!

Class of '97

Started to follow as kid in mid 80's reading Daily News sports section. Aware of Final 4 year but too young to fully appreciate. Catch some games on TV then mainly listened on my radio. First game attended in 89 when i started HS.

Favorite moments

-Malik Sealy and the Elite Eight Team in 90-91

- meeting Lou C. first time in Alumni Hall. He was retired but was around a lot. I was student worker in AD, trying to find someone to bring some papers to. He saw I needed help, pointed me in right direction, thanked him for great memories...he extended a handshake and said "Oh, and welcome to St. John's young man!"

- when we landed Felipe & Zendon (OK, Tarik Turner too) with huge hopes of future championship (Damn Mahoney !!!!!!!!)

- day Mullin hire was officially announced

- Battle 4 Atlantis and Mullin seeing us in St Johns gear, coming up to us, shaking my daughters hand, thanks for coming to support the team and wishing Happy Thanksgiving.

- any time Ali B is not on the floor this year

A loss.
1999 SJU/Duke.
Most intense game I've ever been to. Heart rate still not the same.

Even though we lost probably my favorite game that I went to. 2nd would be BET championship on Rowan jumper

NEW YORK -- Marcus Hatten was alone on the court with 19,610
people.

The St. John's senior was fouled with no time left on the clock
and he stepped to the free throw line with a chance to give
struggling St. John's an upset of Duke (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today, No. 6 AP).

With the sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden silent, Hatten
made the free throw to cap a 12-0 run and give the Red Storm a
72-71 victory that snapped a four-game losing streak.

Hatten had 29 points, including 16 of the last 22 for the Red
Storm (13-12), who held the Blue Devils scoreless over the final
four minutes.

This was a true turning point in the season. They were struggling big time, and were on their way to another loss. After the comeback, team only lost one more game (in Big East tourney) that they were in down to the last minute. Then won the NIT (later vacated). Hatten's performance shows what can happen if you have a true star on the court who could carry a team

I'll never forget that 1999 Duke game even though it was a loss. Remember exactly where was sitting. Packed garden. Artest hits the three then overtime.

Beating number 1 Pittsburgh at the garden during Lavin time felt like old times

True, but you still need your team to buy in and play as a team. Jarvis had a history or riding one player but even so, his teams played defense. Hatten was a machine and that was one of the absolute great endings, but the other guys did things other than scoring and shutting down a good Duke team for several minutes at a time is a team effort that allows guys to have moments like that.

Lots of great games already mentioned. One that I remember from my early days at SJU was the Redmen defeating #3 Kansas at Alumni Hall. Jo Jo White was their star and I think we won 66-44.
The NCAA game against Maryland that got the Artest team into the elite 8 was another.

A loss.
1999 SJU/Duke.

My sentiments exactly.

Agree the place was electric. Feb 1 2011 was pretty awesome too be at also when The Johnnies beat then ranked # 3 Duke by 15 and almost dropped 100 on them.

There have been so many in the 1964 Holiday Festival SJU beat Cincinnati 66-64. Now that was long ago and time play tricks but I would swear neither lead by more then 3 point. The game was the opener for Princeton Michigan.

1981 Holiday Festival St john's 76 Kansas 75 ( I always claim it was Indiana ).Seconds left Kansas has ball under SJU basket somehow someway St. John's stole the in bound pass as time ran out.
