We should have won Game 1 yesterday but three unearned runs in the 7th let them back in.

I hope we can get out of the Regional and make it to the last 16. I think we will score runs, we have good hitters up and down the line-up. My concern is that over the last week our arms seem tired.

Thanks,yes it's Oregon St. not Oregon as top seed. Guess I don't follow college baseball as close as college hoops and college football. :)
 
It was mentioned that Clemson (the #1 seed and host of their sub regional) has lost 11 of their last 12 ACC games. This is definitely a good (and winnable) draw.

FWIW, they also mentioned that Miami was the first team left out of the tournament. The U had a string of 44 straight NCAA appearances in the baseball tournament going into this year. This is the longest streak by any school in any sport in NCAA history.

An amazing feat!! I wonder if this streak will ever be broken.

We are the underdogs but any given... in this case Friday :) We knocked off a few Top 25 teams. Uphill climb but these guys can do it!

My uneducated assessment: Dixon doesn't have the same speed on the bases of a Valente, Donadio or Berardi (over 30 SB's combined). And Brocato and Gingras are solid RBI-men. And Donadio and Berardi draw a lot of walks...

The BA up & down the line-up is crazy. Eight guys hitting over .300

But we need to be more clutch / situational if we are to progress. We stranded a lot of runners in the BET. Ten in the finale vs X.
 
It would be an understatement to say yesterday did not go according to plan. We took a 3-1 lead against Vandy in the top of the 5th and all that did was make them angry because they scored the next 12 runs.

Our season hangs by a thread and if we are to progress we must beat UNC Greensboro today. First pitch 11am CST.

Down 2-0 in the 7th. Only 3 hits. We need to muster some offense or the season will end with a quiet fizzle.
 
And fizzle out it did. We lost 3-1.

We got win # 40 against 'Nova on May 19. Since the we have gone 2-5. Lost all our mojo when it counted most. We feasted on weak opposition but could not grind out a W when it mattered.

A 42-13 record looks great but we are not CWS material.
 
Picked a bad time to get cold. Macgee pitched a nice game for us.
