SJU Baseball 2017

3-0 start to the season, getting good pitching and timely hitting. Early days but in the 3 wins SJU has scored 34 runs, giving up only 7.

Tomorrow will be a stronger test, we face last years NCAA champs Coastal Carolina. They were ranked # 11 preseason.

Very nice win in extra innings today over the reigning National Champs and #9 ranked Coastal Carolina.

We were up by 3 runs at one stage but they tied it in the bottom of the 8th on a HR. We scored 3 in the top of the 10th and held them scoreless. Final 7-4.

Anthony Brocato with four RBI. Turner French got the last 7 outs in relief.

Great start to the season.

That's great, thanks for posting

Playing a couple of top 15 teams w east Carolina and North Carolina coming up. Could really develop the resume before coming home.

our 114 crew definitely going to try and make a couple of home games this year. Anyone else go to the games here ?

I am taking the kids to the Wagner game on 03/29.. expect a solid 100 ppl there in the worst area of SI :)

Kansas State just beat #4 ranked South Carolina so this looks like another tough game. Looks like K State has good pitching.

Really impressed with the hitting so far. Hopefully the bats are hot in the Big East Tournament and beyond.

we were talking about them yesterday at the game. The 114 crew will definitely be making some of their home games this season. Looking forward to it

Maybe the game at hofstra nd old brookeville too

Leading 3-0 bottom of the 7th against UMBC (the team we shellacked yesterday).

SJU worked out of a bases loaded jam with only one out in the [strike]bottom [/strike] top of the seventh. Gavin Hollowell - a 6'7" freshman - came in in relief and got two big strikeouts.

We added a couple of insurance runs, now up 5-0.

Put it in the books, SJU are 7 and 0. Final score 8-0.

Looking at our roster this is a very young team. Only six seniors out of 35 on the team, including today's starter Ryan McAuliffe. It was the underclassmen who did the damage at the plate. SS Jesse Berardi (SO) with three RBI.

2017 is shaping up nicely!
