First, these are transfers from four-year schools so no JUCOs here.

So to mark the Curbelo and Jones commitments, here's my top 5 off the top of my head:

1. Reggie Carter - Hawaii - 2nd team All American, First ever First Team All BE 1980. Lead SJU to Elite 8 in 1979.

2. Kevin Loughery - BC - Probably a better pro than college player (how many are those?). Longtime NBA guard on the great Baltimore teams and head coach. Probably should be a HOFer.

3. Justin Simon - Arizona - BE Defensive POY and just did everything on the court for the team.

4. Bernard Rencher - Notre Dame - Cornerstone of those great Late 70s teams including Elite 8 team with Carter.

5. Ron Rowan - Notre Dame - A surprisingly great senior season capped by hitting the winning shot of the 1986 BET vs Syracuse.

I've probably missed a bunch, so have at it in the replies....

Good list.
As far as another player who was better in the NBA than college, I nominate Bernard King. At Tennessee, Ernie Grunfeld was considered the better pro prospect.

Lamont Middleton. One of my favorites. Gave it all along Mitchell Foster but I think Mitchell was JUCO.

Limited to those I actually saw play:

Reggie Carter - Hawaii
Matt Burst - UNC
Ron Rowan - ND
Justin Simon - Arizona
Bernard Rencher - ND

Billy Paultz - not sure if he was at a four- year college or Juco
Terry Mc Cormick - Hofstra
Paul Berwanger - BC
