Sixth man?

Anyone think Glenn Taylor could be the sixth man with starter's minutes? Great energy...etc.
I would rather a scorer as a sixth man. Taylor is great in the staring lineup because he is a glue guy that is very effective and efficient without the need to take many shots.

It is only highlighted as the staff needs to continue to find shots for the other four starters.

You are not wrong about Taylor's game, but Luis will be starting in his spot by the Xavier game, probably before that.

It is wise to fitting and wise to start Nahiem tomorrow night. Reward him for his recent play while softly introducing Glenn into his Swiss army 6th man role, RJ quickly to follow. Zuby makes the long term rotation, Conway and DrIssa take a big step back. Continue to build Sim and Dunlap‘s confidence if the lead allows.

after seeing what many expected vs HC... gonna be hard not to give Rj 20+ mins. With the Jenkins/Dingle/Soriano locked into the starting lineup- and all legit scoring options... I like Luis coming off the bench (ultimately playing starter minutes)- but providing that scoring punch when Dingle sits a bit.

Coach has a good problem to figure out.

Regardless if Luis starts or not, the top 6 will get the lion share of the minutes. We’re in good hands whomever is out there in crunch time.
Yeah, we get too caught up in who starts. Crunch time will say a lot and I always look at individual total minutes per game to see what the staff thinks. Of course guys in foul trouble will skew that a bit at times.

In the games during the Charleston Classic, these were the minute breakdowns for Ledlum/Traore/Conway:
Utah: 33/8/2
Dayton: 35/6/0
North Texas: 31/12/11

I expect Luis to lighten the load for Ledlum, bringing him around 28-30 minutes per game and then taking all of Traore/Conway's minutes as well. End of games will depend on what we need and who's playing well. We know it'll be a (healthy) competition between Dingle, Alleyne, Taylor, Luis, and Ledlum for three spots. (I can't imagine Jenkins or Soriano not out there)

Reliance on Jenkins over Dingle still a little bothersome

Dingle is best outside weapon we have, to Soriano's inside.

Last four minutes of the game? Soriano, Jenkins, Dingle, Luis and probably Ledlum

I think the plan all along was to use Luis at both the three and the four. Who starts between him and Taylor (I doubt Ledlum ever comes off the bench) is a shrug to me as there are 40 minutes for three guys there, and Pitino will know how to utilize all three best on a game-to-game basis.

Alleyne's resume -- especially at the end of big games -- is infinitely better than anyone else on this roster. He's also the best free throw shooter. The only negative with him is that he can't take meaningful dribbles to save his life and we haven't been able to set up our shooters on a regular basis. Hopefully Luis helps a lot there.

I think you kind of have to play Taylor at the 3 if you are going to play Luis at the 4. It just adds so much more length and rebounding.

I think Alleyne can start but is best suited of the group to be the 6th man.

I do like Luis as 6th man but playing starter minutes.
Soriano, dingle & Jenkins 26 min.
Taylor, Luis & ledlum 24 min
Alleyne 14 min
Zuby, drissa & Wilcher 8 min
Dunlap Davis & Conway 4 min
Ayo none

I expect our top 6 guys in minutes played to be Jenkins, Soriano, Dingle, Ledlum, Taylor & Luis, with Alleyne, Zuby & Wilcher 7, 8 and 9 and Drissa & Dunlap getting light minutes most games. Could care less whether Taylor or Luis actually starts the game.
….. and we could not ask for a better head coach to manage these minutes.

I think our 7th man could be just as impactful as our 6th man through the course of the year and agree it won’t matter who starts 5-7 it could end up being all interchangeable about matchups. Joel we all know is stud my hope is Dingle becomes the Hardy ( not at the point more as just as effective scorer ) if that happens everything else will fall into place
