Seton Hall's Cosby Gone

good news! the new conference can't afford to have permanent bottom feeders that double as low to mid majors.

no one questions hill's ability to recruit. at least seton hall is spending some of the fox money wisely.

Well, they better spend. Their seems to be an edict from FOX to improve that comes along with the additional funds. No more disappearing into the
general fund which non state schools seem to do. (guess who Newsie?)

It looks as if they are hiring Hill in order to secure Jared Sina's commitment to the Hall?????????????????

So when does Hill lose control? He may be only an assistant, but he takes a back seat to no one in the insane category.

I think Rutgers should hire Bobby G. as an assisiatnt now. Just so each of these fine coaches can rehabilitate themselves with a simple change of scenery. Not to mention they can beat the crap out of each other in some random New Jersey HS gym while looking at recruits

Is Van Macon still on staff at Rutgers? Maybe the Hall is better off skipping on Fred Hell even if it means missing on Sina. If I were Willard, I think I'd prefer to bring in a well-liked recruiter who isn't bonkers.

After looking at the numbers, he doesn't look that bad. What I do recall is that the players were pretty much out of control, Dr. Roy was feuding with Massimino, and the pitt fans wanted him fired. Basically, he could recruit, but couldn't coach. A better choice for worst coach would be joe Mullaney, in his second tour with Providence, in the early eighties. The friars were terrible, Joe was replaced by Rick Pitino, and in two years they were in the final four.

Any discussion of worst ever BE coach must include Dr. Roy Chipman - Pitt.

Not that it's the greatest source, but he doesn't sound like nearly the worst BE coach ever according to Wikipedia.

This just was posted on the SH Rivals website:

SETON HALL'S AARON COSBY TO PURSUE TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. ? Seton Hall's Aaron Cosby (Louisville, Ky.) has decided to leave the men's basketball program and pursue transfer opportunities, it was announced by head coach Kevin Willard on Monday.
"We want to thank Aaron for his two years in a Seton Hall uniform," Willard said. "We wish him luck in his future endeavors."
In 65 career games, Cosby averaged 10.1 points 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Last season, Cosby made 27 starts and averaged 12.6 points per game.

This on top of rcently losing their only two recruits (both guards) and the mid-season transfer of guard Freddie Brown.

With this news (which was hardly unexpected) the what-looks-like inevitable transfer of forward Kevin Johns, zero recruits lined up for next year, and a less-than-positive buzz on the 2014 class, the Hall has a mess on his hands and Willard's seat has definitely gotten hotter. Expect an all-out effort to get Jaren Sina.

Groce is doing a real nice job assembling talent over at Illinois. He was a real solid hire for them.
