@Seton Hall, Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30p, FS-1

Let's keep some perspective here. This team, coaches and program can't be judged at all by this game, even if it had as an awful stretch of basketball over 30 minutes as I can remember.

A few takeaways from this game for me:

1) Talk is cheap. They can talk about being tougher all they want but they got completely outworked in every sense of the word today. This team is soft and the softest player didn't even play today.

2) Soriano needs to get out of this funk quick. He went through something similar last season in the middle of Big East play and eventually picked up his play again. Need him bigtime on Saturday. Zuby is earning more minutes at his expense and the difference between them on the defensive end is night and day.

3) Wilcher can't play at this level yet. Kind of already knew that but tonight really proved that. He's noticeably a boy amongst men.

4) Rick will never take a Covid test again and will tell anybody recommending he isolate for 5 days to shove it, as he should.
Soriano is soft for a center. He gets out bullied and out powered a lot. WTF happened in the first half? I only was able to catch second half. This is some ugly bball.

A lot of sju fans calling for toughness tonight never wanted to see that kid wear an SJU jersey.

I'm not concerned this game will derail our season. Only "knee jerks" will attempt to use this game to extrapolate the remainder of the season.

I still expect us to win 12 conference games. I'm just disappointed how we fared tonight.

We cannot press anymore because we cannot play D without fouling We are over the limit with 12 minutes left in every half.
Until we fix that - play a zone

Some of these players giving me buyer’s remorse.
