Don’t understand - why sit out another year???

Anyway we only want kids who want to be here...no favors necessary.
Go Storm.

Lol, still missing a big body so we have a lot of work to do to have a salvageable roster for next season. Even if we land Madioh, we will be short bodies. Coach Anderson and staff really working here late.

Have a feeling he would've sat a lot next year regardless, whether it be on our bench or as a transfer on someone else's.

If anyone can replenish the roster at the eleventh hour, I sense it is Mike Anderson.
We shall see.

Maybe someone can do one of those roster tracking threads so we can get a snapshot of what we've got and what we don't?

Perfect example as to why I don't follow this recruiting stuff carefully and reserve judgment until we've gotten a look at a guy for a few games of league play at least.

The STAFF told me Keita was a BEast, and they watch him practice for more than a year. How could they be that far off?

I'm reminded of how people on here swooned over Freudenberg after watching his videos, and pondered whether he would be the next Detlef Schrempf or Dirk Nowitzki. Turned out to be more Max Hooper than either, and the hype on Max was considerable on here as well.

Having to sit out again, my guess is that there's a strong possibility he never plays another college game.

If this influences Madioh to sign with SJU Keita will finally have a positive impact on the program.

It wasn't just the fans WRT Freudenberg. Fraschilla raved about him, and he knows the international players better then anyone.

I think Freudenberg suffered from culture shock, more then anything.

He'll always be OK with me because of those threes he hit in the dome.:)

This is what it looks like right now...

1. Williams / McGriff / Open
2. Heron / Wright
3. Open (LJ) / Caraher
4. Open / Earlington / Open
5. Steere / Roberts / Open

-Need to go out and find probably 1 more guard... a combo guy that can play some PG and SG, preferably a grad transfer that could start right away.
-Need a combo forward... a stretch 4 type player.
-Need 1 more big man
-Need another SF if LJ leaves.

Yeah the more I look at it, this is a total rebuild for coach Anderson. There’s a few guys like LJ, Heron, Wright and Steere who have Big East-level talent. The rest aren’t world-beaters and at best unproven. The prior staff left the cupboard absolutely bare with talented young players. We have some fair transfers and holdovers, but even our young guys were not oozing big time potential except maybe Greg Williams who seems to have some there. I hate having to fill a roster with stopgaps as well. Gonna be tough for coach Anderson because after this coming season, we might once again be the youngest team in the country. Either way, he’s gotta work with what he has. It’s terribpy apparent how the prior staff’s recruiting left almost nothing moving forward. The over-reliance on transfers rears it’s ugly head. Keita was still only a stop-gap measure.

Good luck to him. Game seemed way to fast for him. I really didn’t see a fit given style of play MA wants to play. Next year is gonna be tough but we need players that match the coach.

He wasn't very good and supposedly was a handful for previous staff. Maybe he saw writing on wall.

CMA is building is program

Not a surprise. We need bodies so in that sense perhaps a very slight negative, but sense he wouldn't fit the type of player MA values so probably just as well he looks elsewhere.
