Season Tickets

The dearth of lower bowl seats remaining at CA leads me to believe that you’re correct. . .if it was just STHs would have assumed there would be more tix remaining…wonder if they allowed folks to purchase more tix than they previously had purchased in years past
The money difference in CA is not much and the contribution level was tied to MSG. A lot of people who might have been higher up with a lot of years at CA might have used this mandatory exercise to make a move in CA that they never made before due to inertia.

Correct - you can purchase up to 6 regardless of your prior number of tickets. So clearly folks have bought more tickets in addition to any other factors that might be at play. Personally I am skeptical that there is a large number of seats at CA that are going places other than to STHs. I would not be surprised if there are more seats going elsewhere at the Garden but there are also a lot more seats at the Garden so it doesn't make as much of an impact there.

Edit - also what IDraft said

Makes sense. In past years I believe additions were considered “new” and hence seat selection was after all renewals were confirmed. . .could be wrong. . .I guess in the case of this reseating “all bets are off”. I thought I was positioned OK being in the top 15-17% but not the case (at least at CA)

Allowing someone who previously had 2 tickets to purchase 6 tickets for this season doesn't seem fair to me (but my opinion doesn't count). :(

I was surprised by that as well. But if you assume that the school's goal was "raise as much money and sell as many tickets as possible," which is more or less an economic imperative for them, it makes sense. Hopefully the STH disruption is generally minimal. It does seem like there are folks who picked their seats a long time ago and until now did not have either the motivation or the opportunity to upgrade. And we are also in an environment where people actually WANT these tickets, which is quite the pleasant change!

I was approached by some people higher up the food chain about whether or not I wanted them to increase their tickets so I could sit with them. As delightful a companion as I am, I would think I am not the only one who received such an offer. In other words some of the “increased sales” that would be going on today will be offset when some folks further down the chain take these offers and do not purchase themselves. And logically the worse someone’s spot on the list the more such an offer would be interesting to them. It seems totally against the spirit of this exercise, if there is any spirit.

We passed the “whatever” phase of this a long time ago, I will be happy when every single existing STH knows where they landed and this is over.

The new tee shirt cannon is programmed to reach only wealthy donors. 😎
There was a time and it was the last year of the cannon before the slingshot and throwing that the cannon shot it up and the tee shirt came within inches of decapitating Lawmanfan. I remember this vividly . I’m almost positive that was the last year of the cannon. We nicknamed that student Top Gun 😀😀😀😀

Yes, any sth could purchase up to 6.

That's certainly a possibility, but it's a big step up from $1675 per seat (Gold) to $4250 per seat (Platinum). Not sure how many takers there would be for that offer amongst the existing season ticket holder base. I am guessing people at the Platinum level who increased the number of seats they purchased are offering them to "outsiders". Which sucks for the loyal existing season ticket holders who got bumped back a row or two (or worse) as a result.

Delightful? I do love you but...

I had a pretty early pick and platinum was long gone by then.

FYI -- my time is next week but you can preview the seats now from your ticketmaster site. No need to be worried when you can see it all in real time.

Getting the sense you will be pleasantly surprised with the amount of tix available. Could be wrong, but doubt you wont get seats.
