Lawman has a tall guy on front of him and just trying to avoid a lawsuitI never said it was ours originally. Just loved the chant when we were up near the end of games signifying that IT WAS OVER and proclaiming who we were.
I do remember the very loud and moving chant when President Ronald Reagan came to campus.
The signs were given out then too. I’m trying to remember if Billy Goodwin held the sign when sitting on the rim. That great photo was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Phenomenal memories of our great legacy.
Difference between me and MJM.Lawman has a tall guy on front of him and just trying to avoid a lawsuit![]()
that's a fair statementDifference between me and MJM.
I sometimes get stuck with a tall guy in front of me.
MJM always has a tallboy in front of him.
"Here we go Redmen. Here we go!" preceded "We are St. Johns".I didn’t post the video for political purposes. Only for pride in Our University. Please a least watch the first few minutes for the We are St. John’s signs and the last 6 minutes for the chant. Which was not We are St. John’s, but rather: Let’s Go Redmen!!!
That was the loud chant that great day.
St. John’s at around that time had graduates who were the Governors of Ca. and NY (Deukmajian and Cuomo) and the Head of the CIA (Casey). Later on we had the late great Secretary Ron Brown.
We are St. John’s and we are great at everything, not just basketball.
Let’s go Johnnies!!!!
I’m of the belief that there are CA tickets still available. Just call on Monday to confirm.Picking wednesday morning, Carnesecca sold out already? You can only see whats left at MSG on the site from what I can tell.

“Here we go” was the go to chant and the house rocked"Here we go Redmen. Here we go!" preceded "We are St. Johns".
"Here we go" is a rallying cry, as in "We're on our way. Crush them"
"We are St Johns" is a victory chant, when the game is out of reach. In the late 70s, a group of my fraternity brothers made a road trip to Notre Dame. They heard the "We are Notre Dame" chant and brought it back with them. For years my frat controlled Student Union and Student Government, some years we had the Goverment president and Union president in the same year. Student Government paid for the white on red "We are St Johns" posters which were not changed one bit year after year.
Both chants should be brought back.
I like the "Here we go..." chant alot. I could live with "Here we go Red Storm. Here we go." But the original was really good too.
