Josh Pastner makes the most sense.
He grossly underperformed at Memphis.

Probably had more to do with the act he had to follow.
it had nothing to do with that. He had a of talent and at least 2 top recruiting classes. He just couldn’t coach it.

He won 70% of his games in and out of conference and went to tourney 4/7 years. Tough act to follow!

And post  Pastner, in five seasons since Memphis has:
- won .639% of their games (.696 with Pastner)
- havnt won more than 22 games (Pastner won 24+ 5 times),
- and have failed to reach the tourney.

Mase you proving my point. Partner was able to use the name that Cal gave to Memphis and turned it into top 10 classes and then did nothing with the talent. If I was an Arizona fan I would be very disappointed if that is where they land.

So would I. But Memphis isn’t Arizona. He didn’t grossly underperform, cal gave that fan base too much.

We can agree to disagree on the underperforming. Turning top 5 classes into first and second round NCAA exits is underperforming to me. He could always get the kids and win in a weaker conference but couldn’t do anything in the dance with them.

A scathing, and well deserved, indictment of college athletics, Sean Miller, Arizona and Mark Emmert of the NCAA. It's pathetic how the NCAA "governs" college athletics.
