Scrimmage today

I had the privilege of attending a scrimmge today (along with Panther). (Luckily i got a stat sheet at one point since I only could tell who a few players were so I needed that to match the player and his number.) Players that stood out were Brady Dunlap, at one point 5-5 from the field and RJ Luis who ended up 12-17 with 6 rebounds. One thing for sure was that most can shoot, even Soriano who hit 1 or 2 threes. IMG_0912.jpg

Great to see Brady stat line that jives with everything that people who have been on campus have been saying

Can you speak at all to who the guards were handling the ball for the white team? Interesting both Dingle and Wilcher were on same team.

Not specifically, lots of ball movement so hard to determine who would be considered the main PG to this untrained non-coaching eye.

Jenkins was on the sidelines, waiting for his Iona situation I guess. Big guy.

Thank you so much for the inside info on the scrimmage.

I’ve been in the Brady Dunlap gonna play a lot bigger role than many expect since he committed. Just be good enough defense and so that in the gym range can be utilized. Definite big potential fan favorite.

Thank you for sharing.

Good to hear about the guys working together. It’s a process to make it a team. These are really important days. Sounds crazy but this is important for their success.

The stat sheet appears to show that Zuby attempted a few three pointers. Am I reading that correctly? I wouldn't imagine that is something that we'll see in games (or even future practices)?

That's a partial, first half stat sheet. And since Coach P knows the value of threes, expect a lot.

At an NIL fundraiser last night, he said he looks for an 8 percentage point difference in shooting percentage on threes to be successful. Offense shoots 38%, other team shoots 29%, that;s a winner.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I understand it's just a scrimmage but the fact that the team that had Soriano and Dingle (with a great shooting day from Dunlap, as well) lost shows that this team has so much talent, big time depth and versatility.

I would not read anything into that as those lineups probably did not stay-the same through out the scrimmage as players come out, get a rest, switch their reversible practice jerseys to the other color and comeback on the other team.

So you think the Soriano Dingle team was out scored 70-29 in the second half? They lead 40-31 at the half with a final of 101-69. More likely they won no? Think 65 just had his red and white teams mixed up of course he can correct me if I am wrong.

That’s what I was thinking as well. I mean it’s an intrasquad scrimmage in July, but can’t see the white team going on that kid of run under any circumstances 😂
