SB Nation Article on Kansas to the Big East

Hey if Kansas is willing to commit to the $50M exit fee which Yukon agreed to then the Big East shout listen.

INSTEAD OF KANSAS,THE BEST OF THOSE BIG 8 TEAMS LEFT WOULD BE WEST VIRGINIA..

Then we are back to what caused the old Big East to fall apart. It's football program is too big and does not fit in the BE

Years back i remembered seeing a blurb regarding BE and Kansas discussing a potential merger.  This was when the BE was trying to expand its football and the future of the Big12 was in question as there were thoughts Texas would go to Pac12 and Nebraska left for Big10.  Of course future of Big12 very much in doubt now as well.

Can't see Kansas joining the BE unless there are no good money options for their football program.

One can dream however and this would be  a grand slam.

Why stop with Kansas, take all of the remaining teams in the Big 12! That would be an insane basketball league!

Unlike Kansas however, West Virginia actually has a pretty good football program and heavy fan participation.

Seems like a well written article. I’d take them in a heartbeat. Heck take 9 more teams and have a big east basketball only 10 and a big east basketball and football 10. Ideally if we could go to 12 and have Kansas I’m all for trying anything fo do it. UConn football sucks if they jumped I don’t ceee give me the exit money I’m willing to take Kansas and if they left later on and paid the exit fee well it was worth the shot. It’s not like we have to worry about the basketball schools jumping

A West Virginia to ACC would make the most sense with the natural rivalry with Pitt and the BE traitors

On the surface yes KU basketball is great and their football is crap.  But how many public/state universities like Kansas have abandoned football regardless of success.  Especially for a Midwest school where they aren't hurting for kids in HS playing football.  For whatever reason those kids have chosen to go away to ply their trade on the gridiron at other schools.

KU to Big East makes a ton of sense. Their football team can't beat anyone, except maybe UConn. Go independent if the sport means that much to you. Play the 12 weakest D-1 football teams, and KSU in your regular season finale. It's not like playing in a major conference will ever help you make it to the most prestigious bowl games anyway.

Kansas may be in the midwest but they are by no means a hot bed for high D1 football prospects and neither is Nebraska which is why such a storied program as fallen on such hard times as they have failed to secure out of state talent.

I feel like all those states where I would rather kill myself than have to live are only as successful as their ability to recruit Texas, Florida, and California.
