Interesting to ponder, but agree: Don't see it ever happening.

Then we are back to what caused the old Big East to fall apart. It's football program is too big and does not fit in the BE

Unlike Kansas however, West Virginia actually has a pretty good football program and heavy fan participation.BOB BARKER post=438373 said:INSTEAD OF KANSAS,THE BEST OF THOSE BIG 8 TEAMS LEFT WOULD BE WEST VIRGINIA..

A West Virginia to ACC would make the most sense with the natural rivalry with Pitt and the BE traitorsSJU85 post=438382 said:Unlike Kansas however, West Virginia actually has a pretty good football program and heavy fan participation.BOB BARKER post=438373 said:INSTEAD OF KANSAS,THE BEST OF THOSE BIG 8 TEAMS LEFT WOULD BE WEST VIRGINIA..
Kansas may be in the midwest but they are by no means a hot bed for high D1 football prospects and neither is Nebraska which is why such a storied program as fallen on such hard times as they have failed to secure out of state talent.Moose post=438390 said:On the surface yes KU basketball is great and their football is crap. But how many public/state universities like Kansas have abandoned football regardless of success. Especially for a Midwest school where they aren't hurting for kids in HS playing football. For whatever reason those kids have chosen to go away to ply their trade on the gridiron at other schools.
I feel like all those states where I would rather kill myself than have to live are only as successful as their ability to recruit Texas, Florida, and California.bamafan post=438392 said:Kansas may be in the midwest but they are by no means a hot bed for high D1 football prospects and neither is Nebraska which is why such a storied program as fallen on such hard times as they have failed to secure out of state talent.Moose post=438390 said:On the surface yes KU basketball is great and their football is crap.
