Say Something Nice

Some People been killing Marillac on the boards. Maybe he is right about the team

Wonderful win, but even if we'd lost Marillac is right about this team.

And he is right about the board being too negative. This performance ended that for at least the next 12 hours

Greene and Pointer are different players as seniors. Dom has been our early MVP. If Opekpa figures out a way to stay out of foul trouble more often this will be a special year!

I'll say something nice.

It was great that we ran out of timeouts with 7 minutes left

:)

Yep, and next year when we lose to NJIT you can bask in the glory of that. How about this year, you bask in the glory of beating 'Cuse at the dome.

I guess next time I'll lay the sarcasm on you a little heavier

Dunno, maybe /sarc might help?

I broke my silence in honor of Phil Greene IV tonight.
This team is easy to root for. They have guts. They compete. They are much smarter than last season regardless of how talented Sampson was or how skilled Sanchez was. The scary thing is they have so much room for growth and can be so much better by March.

I think this win helps them turn the corner and create a culture of winning. These kids have been losing since they stepped foot on campus and no team is more symbolic of that than Syracuse.

Lost in all of this was that we got two freshman minutes in a small eight man rotation. Ali b was in at very key point with ten minutes left in the second half. Those are things that those two (and the other freshmen) will take with them three years (four for Henderson and possibly ADR) after this season ends.

maybe the 2nd best win after the Pitt game for Lavin here although destroying Duke that year was awesome also but to win as syracuse is huge

This is the best win for Lavin with his own recruits here at ST. John's.

I was reading the Cuse boards and liked reading this Cuse fan post about Harrison:

"This Harrison kid just has the look and confidence of a star. No one on our roster has his body language."

KOB said three years ago that Harrison was the second cockiest kid he'd ever met. And I'm glad he is.

Really nice win. As people have been saying: best win since the Pitt game at MSG.

I don't care how good Syracuse is this season, or even if they don't win another game for the rest of the season. Our guys deserve a ton of credit for this win. It was a long long time coming, and they deserve all the credit in the world.

This means more to the true St Johns fan than probably any other regular season game could.

And for the first time this season, for the first time in three plus years actually..... they have me thinking that maybe, maybe, this team could play in March.

Did KOB say who the cockiest was ? I forget. Definitely love Dlo's attitude. Doesn't back away from anything and he is hustling his ass off right now

I woke up this morning and for the 1st time this season started to really look at when the away games are to see about potentially traveling to some of them. Love that feeling

Stay focused Desco, that's not you! :)

On the morning after, it's a win to relish. Beating Syracuse any time, especially in Syracuse, especially for a downtrodden SJU fan, is worth basking in. The team performed when it counted, a monumental problem last season.

It's only one win. Lavin & co. will let them enjoy it today. Then tomorrow it's back to the gym and work on the things we didn't do well on Saturday. That's what teams do hoping to become March dancers. They took care of business, and now have to take the next opponent as seriously as if they were Kentucky - one game at a time. But there is no question this game is a building block to a team that needed to exorcise some demons. Congratulations

I had pretty much written the seton hall game off because of it being new years but now when I looked closer today it says 12pm so I think I'm going to take off work for that one.

Thx for the discount code. +1 for you for saving me money :)

The joke all morning in this household is to get some to "guess what?" So the other can respond "we beat Syracuse". I've sent each of my Orange friends a "so...how's it going?" message. Simply put, this is why college sports actually matter, because it makes students, faculty, and alum feel good about their choices. I only hate 3 college basketball teams, two of the lost last night and if we could've played a pick up game with UConn Georgetown we would have spanked them too. Let's enjoy this, Lord knows we've suffered a lot recently

As someone who attended Syracuse as an undergrad, I can't begin to describe how satisfying this win was. I couldn't wait to get on social media and start bragging about the win. I absolutely despise the Syracuse basketball program, which was fueled in part by my years up there as a student.

Kudos to all the players and the staff. This team has a tremendous amount of heart and guts, and I'm starting to get really excited about this season.

Can't remember, but my guess would be a Lincoln kid. Probably Lance, because I think Telfair was low-key for most of high school.

Hey I actually agree with you ;) The Syracuse fans are all quiet in the Saratoga area. :)
