Sanchez 1 Year

I think DLO should leave after 2 years if he is a first round NBA pick, not to go to Europe.

I don't doubt that D'angelo plans to go pro, that's a great mindset to have.
But it doesn't mean anyone's going to draft him.

And Moe is a terrible comparison because he grew nearly 3 inches over the summer. Nobody thought 6'6 Moe was an NBA prospect.
When he played his first game at 6'9... bam!, instant prospect.

Reread the boards, as MJM said, a lot of posters didn't think he was ready after the season.

Maybe posters didn't think he was ready, scouts did. And scouts thought Moe was a prospect almost from the first game he played I have yet to hear or see any scout or nba expert even mention D'angelo Harrison.

Chad Ford at ESPN (not a southsayer, granted), but as reputable a source as there is on draft prospects; has 30 pgs and 30 shooting guards in his 2013 draft watch, none of which are D'angelo Harrison.

I don't doubt for a second that he wants to be a pro badly, and maybe he does leave after this season for Europe. But, it won't be the NBA. And I would put my money on him coming back for his junior year. I've never heard him mention he needs the money asap for a sick relative, ala Dominic Cheek. A career in Europe will still be there for him after he leaves St Johns, but he'll never have the spotlight like this again. I bet we're talking about him as the starting sg, at this time next year.

He has a brother convicted of murder need for money is for an appeal

True you are. Forgot about that. But hey, even if he didn't, I wouldn't criticize him for taking the money now. That's his decision to make. I thought all things being equal he would stick around if Lavin told him he wasn't going to be drafted. But, maybe he does go Euro.

I just don't see it being in the NBA.

A guard's career is what, ten or eleven years? The difference between going pro and staying two years is maybe three hundred large? That's alot of coin to turn down for a kid with nothing.

Was his brother convicted of murder?
I once tried to find out but did not get the answer.
