Rodney Purvis

Kid is going to blow up.

@VinParise: Iona is clearly the most logical choice for WVU transfer Jabarie Hinds. Transfers have thrived there, local product & ties to coaching staff

If he was going to blow up Iona dare I say wouldn't be the logical choice.

@GoodmanCBS: Trey Zeigler is transferring from Pittsburgh, his father Ernie told CBSSports.

Previously had a DUI.

2nd transfer in as many off seasons for Ziegler. Unless he's joining his dad somewhere else he's going to have to sit this time then have only 1 year left..

Rodney Purvis to transfer from North Carolina state University. Will be announced by the school this afternoon per CBS. Already, Purvis has announced that UCONN is in the mix, no other teams have been mentioned.

A lot of the analysts on Twitter are saying he's a lock for UConn

funny how the head coach of Uconn was a follower on twitter of Purvis up until his decision to transfer....can anyone say NCAA violation...

Not sure but I don't think its a violation for a coach to follow a recruit on social media channels. Its how they use the channel when communicating that could be a violation.

"You will be drowning in BJs if you commit here" isn't a violation, is it?

Id love to get a copy of the PMs between ollie and purvis, lol

Rodney Purvis has decided to transfer to Connecticut, he said Friday.
Purvis, a McDonald's All-American from Raleigh, averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds this past season at N.C. State. He made the decision to leave N.C. State on Monday.
UConn is coming off of a 20-10 season in coach Kevin Ollie's first season. The Huskies were banned from postseason play by the NCAA for previous academic issues under former coach Jim Calhoun.
Purvis, a 6-3 guard, started 23 games and averaged 25.5 minutes per game as a freshman. He had seven points in N.C. State's 69-65 win over the Huskies in the Jimmy V Classic in December.
Under NCAA rules, Purvis will have to sit out next season. The Huskie are moving to the newly minted American Athletic Conference. Purvis will have a chance to play in his home state when East Carolina joins the league in 2014.

This league is going to be so crappy.

Aaron Brown, Jabarie Hinds, Volo Gerun are the mountaineers transferring. Anybody have any information on these kids?

We have to give Jabarie Hinds a look.

He's from Mount Vernon and we offered him coming out of high school. Top 100 prospect at the time. Scoring PG. Experienced.

Make the call Lavin.

WV is terrible and Hinds' stats are just as bad. He shot 35% from the field! He shot 27% from three and had a negative assist to turnover ratio of 1.6:1.7. On top of that, he is 5'11. No thanks.

His height means what exactly?

And if the kid had incredible stats, there would be no reason for him to transfer. How much of it may have had to do with Huggins system or Huggins demeanor? Kids can't thrive under that kind of nonsense.

He is no different than a Juco. Would bring much needed experience to our backcourt. Momo Jones wasn't putting up all-world numbers when he left Arizona. But he thrived back home, new coach and new system. Listed at 6'0.

Make the call.

Momo led Arizona to an Elite Eight! He was a starter and the heart and soul of that team. Hinds lost his job to the Dayton transfer--who also sucks--on a horrible team. There is no comparison.

Let's go after Purvis. He tweeted about St. John's last year and he is a top 25 talent.

Momo led? With 9PPG and 2APG? Surely you jest.

I think you might have him confused with National POY candidate and 2nd pick in the NBA Draft Derrick Williams.

I'm all for Purvis. But I also think it's only right to look at a local kid who has potential.

I tell you, people on this board want the world. Homerun or bust mentality.

A staff who can identify gems and get their nails dirty scouting and finding diamonds in the rough is what we lack.

If Hinds put up those numbers here, people would be all over him about not being a Big East player and would be looking for someone to take his place.

No, we don't have to offer just because he is a local kid. In this particular case, I would pass.

Was this before or after he was given his release?

LJSA was joking.

According to Yardbreaker, N.C. State will not permit his transfer to Missouri or Cincinnati due to the fact they are scheduled to play a non conference game next year.

I just heard Purvis is thinking of transferring.

Brought to you by the backwards in time and posts machine.
