Rodney Purvis to transfer from North Carolina state University. Will be announced by the school this afternoon per CBS. Already, Purvis has announced that UCONN is in the mix, no other teams have been mentioned.

Big time talent and he shot 38.5% from three on 2.2 attempts (only 52% from ft though). Go get'em, Coach!

Aaron Brown, Jabarie Hinds, Volo Gerun are the mountaineers transferring. Anybody have any information on these kids?

We have to give Jabarie Hinds a look.

He's from Mount Vernon and we offered him coming out of high school. Top 100 prospect at the time. Scoring PG. Experienced.

Make the call Lavin.

WV is terrible and Hinds' stats are just as bad. He shot 35% from the field! He shot 27% from three and had a negative assist to turnover ratio of 1.6:1.7. On top of that, he is 5'11. No thanks.

His height means what exactly?

And if the kid had incredible stats, there would be no reason for him to transfer. How much of it may have had to do with Huggins system or Huggins demeanor? Kids can't thrive under that kind of nonsense.

He is no different than a Juco. Would bring much needed experience to our backcourt. Momo Jones wasn't putting up all-world numbers when he left Arizona. But he thrived back home, new coach and new system. Listed at 6'0.

Make the call.

“@starnewsacc: #NCState has now officially confirmed Purvis'decision to transfer. According to source, it's b/c he wants to be a PG: http://bit.ly/ZwQwrZ”

Momo led Arizona to an Elite Eight! He was a starter and the heart and soul of that team. Hinds lost his job to the Dayton transfer--who also sucks--on a horrible team. There is no comparison.

Let's go after Purvis. He tweeted about St. John's last year and he is a top 25 talent.

Id love to get involved with Purvis.

Id pass on Hinds, we already have guys who cant shoot.

Momo led? With 9PPG and 2APG? Surely you jest.

I think you might have him confused with National POY candidate and 2nd pick in the NBA Draft Derrick Williams.

I'm all for Purvis. But I also think it's only right to look at a local kid who has potential.

I tell you, people on this board want the world. Homerun or bust mentality.

A staff who can identify gems and get their nails dirty scouting and finding diamonds in the rough is what we lack.

I'd like to know why Hinds regressed. I'm intrigued by him but his numbers slipped in the same minutes played. Alarmingly assists.

Kevin Jones graduated for one. Maybe Huggins got in his head. One of the first YouTube vids that pops up is Huggins completely ripping Hinds a new one, while WVU was up 20.

I don't know. But I'd like the staff to explore nonetheless.

We act like these kids are stars or something. They're transfers for a reason.

That big 12 is one heck of a bball conference ;)

Even if the staff likes Hinds, it's a delicate balance. If he wants to come home and we offer, he may jump at it. The problem is, we need to wait out Jordan's decision. But if we wait two weeks to offer, we may miss both. Plus, the staff needs someone this coming season, so Hinds' ability to get a waiver (or lie well enough to get one) also factors in.

He lost his point job to the Dayton transfer. He can shoot and he is not a lead guard. 1.6 assists to 1.7 turnovers. 35% from the floor and WV was 13-19. What do we need with a 5'11 combo that shoots worse than Phil Greene?
