If that is the case, can you blame him for hitting the portal.Huge offers from elites in process I assume.
I felt he did the right thing too. Was hoping RJ took it as a wake up call. And let the adversity help him grow.I think so.
But what I think isn't the same as the kid who probably doesn't think he was helping to hero ball the team to a loss.
Think the last 5 minutes of RJ’s season spent on the bench changed a lot of things. Last image of RJ in a SJ uniform was sitting on the bench not on a rim.You don’t do the BE player of the year sitting on top of the rim after winning the BE tourney thing unless you are coming back OR going pro. No in between.
Unless…you are the BE player of the year, and then are benched for the last 5 minutes of the biggest game of your life, in front of a huge national TV audience. You don’t do the BE player of the year sitting on top of the rim after winning the BE tourney thing unless you are coming back OR going pro. Imo, we are deluding ourselves if we think the last game ending with him being yanked was a positive for anyone. I am sure RP had his reasons, but I am not going to spin the outcome. We needed him back, but oh well. If he turned pro, I’d be disappointed, but wish him well. This just leaves a bad taste, although if he gets 2-3M in portal who am I to judge. If that is the case, can you blame him for hitting the portal.
Everything I saw from RJ (and his family) this season suggests he's a smart, mature young man. Yeah, the last game was a debacle from every angle, including his relationship Pitino. I choose to believe the work/accomplishments of the prior year will outweigh the damage done last Saturday.Imo, we are deluding ourselves if we think the last game ending with him being yanked was a positive for anyone. Best outcome might be that someone did offer him $3 million, because we were never going to go that high for him. We wish him luck in his future endeavors and pretend no bitterness existed on either side.Imo, we are deluding ourselves if we think the last game ending with him being yanked was a positive for anyone. A different team, but still a potentially great team.If we can land Hopkins and someone of Watkins’ caliber id feel fine about losing RJ.
Let’s hope you are the Mark Messier of sitting on shitter predictors and not Patrick EwingLet the record show it’s 7:44PM, I am on the shitter hiding from my kids before bedtime and I guarantee RJ will be back next season! Book it!
Or he could do like AJ Storr. Leave a good situation and go the wrong one.A different team, but still a potentially great team.
Last thing we want is for Luis to go somewhere and have his new team go farther in tournament. Then we have to rehash the whole Luis benching next season as well when it's already tiresome now.
