Not my favorite wrestler but man did he take wrestling to new heights !

He was so limited as a wrestler. Many forget that he was a WWF wrester in his early years with marginal success but VM Sr. dropped him when he signed to do Rocky 3, I imagine that was likely because the elder McMahon and those of his generation were very much against breaking kafaybe and he thought being in the movie would do that. When the movie was released Sr was out and Jr was in and I'm sure he loved the idea of leveraging the Rocky 3 appearance and mainstream exposure. The movie combined with Hogan's strong personality and immense size allowed him to get over despite being an awful practioner of the "sport".
