Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Very random but yesterday my friend told me that when he was a kid he thought NBA 2K for the Sega Dreamcast looked lifelike and thought it was impossible for graphics to get any better. I had played that game too as a kid and looked up the graphics on YouTube out of curiosity. I clicked on the first video I saw and skipped partway through. The graphics did look great for 1999, but obviously very outdated by today's standards. Saw Paul Pierce during the player introductions, and thought "hey cool, I recognize him". A few seconds later I thought "wow weird this guy looks just like Pitino", and of course it was (Celtics HC). Pretty awesome how relevant our coach is.

Dreamcast is the all time sporting counsel!

I have noticed that whenever anybody is interviewing Pitino the last question they always ask is how long do you think you will coaching! What they are really asking is how long do think you will stay at St John’s! There seems to be and underlying current among many people that this might not be last stop! Frankly I am not sure but I think Father Shanley should lock him up with a 10 year contract! Interested in what everybody on this site thinks!

Anything possible but I don't think he's going anywhere and this is his last stop. Winning in his hometown in college sport that made him and son now coaching in same conf
I tend to agree but I believe Father needs to pay him what he is worth! When I see what Sean Miller got from Texas Pitino is grossly underpaid! Lock him up now!

I fully believe anything can happen, and I'm usually paranoid about these things, but feel good about this being his last stop. Especially because he seems to be soaking up everything that has hometown NYC has to offer at this stage of his career. But most importantly, he's getting the resources here to make this program a national title contender on a yearly basis.

In college, the coach still gets to be the boss. In the NBA, the coach is a facilitator. CRP seems to like being the boss. (At least, that my wishful thinking, but I understand a Brink's truck filled with Dolan dollars is always a threat.)

It’s not his stamina that concerns me this guy will coach until he is 80 if not more! It’s somebody coming along and making him an offer he can’t pass up! Maybe I am being paranoid!
plenty I'm sure have already called his phone and his agents since he got to St. John's - this truly seems to be his swan song stop. Luckily / hopefully for us, it's for many more years.
