Restaurant reviews

We have beer and lobster rolls but not a consolidated thread for member restaurant reviews. Many times I ask fellow posters for a good place to eat in the city etc and I think it could be useful for all posters . Even out of state posters could contribute so others could have a road map in the event someone visited your city . I think we had something like this awhile back but can't seem to find it. In any case if you eat at a good or bad place can we mention it here? I ate last night in a tremendous Italian place in Farmingdale called Vespa and it is what made me think of this :)

Two things:

1) If enough members are interested I could setup database where you could add maps and star ratings or other elements. I actually already have something like this developed for Venues (MSG etc) which I will launch publicly in the Redmen.com 20th Anniversary Edition :)

2) Not exactly what you said but I saw this yesterday and in my travels I always try to try local BBQ. So this is a "Bucket List" in each of the 50 states:

Excellent ideas by both of you. Maybe we can add restaurants in other countries too for when we all travel

I'd definitely be curious to restaurants in other places

Happy is Vespa good for client meetings or more of a date place?

Are at Vespa in Farmingdale about a month ago and we thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

Total date place. A little to loud and a happening scene for a client but the food was fantastic . Farmingdale and Massapequa park have really transformed to places with great restaurant options .

We were at the Nutty Irishman in farmingdale for a few hours recently and we couldn't believe how crowded the downtown area was. It's getting like huntington. We definitely will try that Vespa place on a weekend

If any of you are into vegan "soul food" or vegan "Caribbean food", Seasoned Vegan ( Soul food) in Harlem is dope and Veggie Castle in Richmond Hill ( Caribbean food) is really good.

That's my contribution.

Went back this weekend to Pio Pio in Hell's Kitchen. I believe they have other locations as well. Amazing Peruvian food. I don't know what they put in that green sauce. Simply amazing.

Pig Beach is worth the trip. Awesome food and fun atmosphere especially during the summer.

Nathalie being originally from Peru we have gone to almost every Peruvian restaurant around NYC and long island. Pio Pio is excellent. And yes they have a bunch of them. Have you tried their pisco sours yet ?

Happy go to La Candela or La Candela 2 in hicksville. We tried La Candela 2 last week and like it even better than their first restaurant except the bartender didnt make good pisco sours but he was from venezuela so I can forgive

Love La candela and will now try out the 2nd one. Btw if you are in Hicksville and like Indian .. Try New chili Curry and taste . Best Indian food I have ever had :)

When I come back to NY I love to go to beccos. Awesome Pasta at a price Fix. If they have the gnocci they are to die for. As far as BBQ just go to texas. Start at Lockhart then into Austin for

Lastly head to and just enjoy the experience. We can talk about KC and Memphis another thread :)

Out on Long Island in Mount Sinai is a great Italian Restaurant called Savino's Hideaway. Excellent Italian and fresh fish on menu plus very reasonably priced.

Austin has some of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.. as well as some of the best food trucks. Easy 10 pd weight gain trip.

Paul, no Wilber's in Goldsboro as the crème de la crème of North Carolina? Their pulled pork is my choice as best I ever tasted.

don't shoot the messenger. I'll have to add Wilber's to (my) list now too and then I'll give you a verdict. :)

That was my birthday restaurant when I was a little kid. Haven't been there in decades. Glad to hear it's still good.
