Remaining Games

Our defense will put us over the top with Seton Hall, and we will beat Providence up and down the court. Mark it down, you heard it here first! ;) B) B)
Game was just suspended with 13 minutes left due to unsafe floor conditions. Condensation from the ice due to record warm temperatures. No word yet on when they will finish the game, but it won't be tonight.
Dunkin Donuts Center frosting melts. That's gotta be the headline in the papers up there tomorrow

with the Providence game being finished tomorrow, Seton Hall has one day off before us. Did Rodriguez ever come back?

He did not come back but don't put too much importance in the 10 minutes they have to play tomorrow because we have a lot more work to do than the Hall after tonight's stinker.

SJU's last four opponents are teams that cannot afford losing streaks this time of year or they could be out of the tournament. Just makes getting wins even tougher especially the away games (Marq and Prov). Will probably have to beat SH and But at CA to have a shot at an NIT bid.

We need to bounce back quickly. Hopefully when they get home, they'll find the D they didn't take to Milwaukee.

Objectively speaking we lost 12 of our last 16 games, tough hole to dig out of despite two huge victories. LoVett departure killed the already roster challenged team.

To me the positive is the 4 game winning streak showed team had not quit & set tone for a nice 18-19 season if Ponds returns. Although we lost Brooks due to the losing streak, the mini turnaround in my opinion showed other recruits there is a bright side to the program. A ton of publicity after Nova & Duke wins was also a nice boost. To me it would be nice to grab an NIT bid, but considering “Lovettgate” we are doing as well as one could hope. Let’s beat SH & go from there. With Ponds, next year could be a lot of fun.

It was nice to seeing what our five could do with Ahmed in foul trouble. Glimpse into the future. Trimble could be a really nice piece for next year. Our five returning next season with major contributions from Dixon and Keita could flirt with a top 25 ranking if we play well. Anything the newcomers give us will be gravy. We go as far as Ponds can take us. Potential for a Kemba-like season from him. Let's enjoy the rest of this year and hopefully steal an NIT bid.

So where were we when Providence smacked us around like a wounded bear. And who 's going to defend Delgado and get out on Powell's 3's..

Is ME leaning to us and are we confident he can be a solid BE guy? He’s a 2* I think. I’ve read a few pieces on the kid. His rep is on the gridiron. Even the likes of NC and Duke were interested when ME was targeting both sports in college. Marcellus has gotten very good press recently off of great performances on the court. A Jersey buddy who follows Don Bosco hoops thinks the kid can play.

The PC game was two months ago when Ponds was not Ponds. PC took a beating by Houston on a neutral court near their campus the week before their game at St John's. They came into that game at CA and played like their season was on the line. The Friars pretty much sent the Johnnies into a spiral that ended our hopes for a very nice season.

PC now lost three of four with each loss in double digits and two at home. This is a Johnny team with renewed life and with a chance to damage PC's season.

Saturday will be interesting in that SHU comes in motivated to pick it up without their key player. Hopefully, the home team plays like their season is on the line.
