I assume most of us are in the Tri-state area. Hopefully, you are all safe and dreaming of St John's basketball inside. The weather is wild here. Here's hoping you and your family remain safe.

Yes, be safe all. The worst appears to be coming, but hopefully we all come out fine. Good luck and go Johnnies !!!

Reporting in from the Mohawk Valley. We're getting high winds and some rains. Most people in this area are over reacting. They seem to forget how far inland they are.

Yes, good luck to you all. My hometown of Port Jeff is already pretty flooded and high tide isn't for a few hours. Far worse than Irene already. Stay safe all.

Still have power in huntington(knocking on wood right now ) but it's going to be pretty bad down by the water with flooding. Went down there before and it was as high as I can remember it in 15 years and it wasnt even close to high tide

Have a very bad feeling it may be 2-3 weeks before I get power back. This thing is violent

I hope that isn't the case, sirvoo. Hope you folks stay safe. Keeping y'all in my thoughts.

My sister has had no power for almost 24 hours in Floral Park and both of their cars are under a tree.

Here in Chicago bad winds, possibly closing Lake Shore Drive.

Please be safe. The news reports look terrible.

90% of LIPA customers are without power. There is widespread flooding and reports of several deaths. 50 houses destroyed by fire in Breezy Pt. and houses destoyed or floating away by high tides. Bridges, tunnels and highways were closed yesterday and some are opening today. Most schools closed. No power below 39 St. in NYC. If you don't have to go out don't. Many power lines down posing threats to life. Stay safe.

My parents report severe flooding in the Sag Harbor area. The road Peter D'Angelo's house sits off of was hit pretty hard, so if anyone knows him, give him a call to see how his house made out.

I am up here in Syracuse, and I am watching the Tri-State area and the horrible storm you had to endure. I love that area, for 5 years it was home...I pray all of you and your families are and will continue to be safe. I hold you in my thoughts and prayers. GOD BLESS!

Is anyone up in the Conn area? I am flying into Boston and driving down to Staten Island. Worried about the gas situation. I am guessing my best bet is to fill up in Conn. Have they been hit hard?

it really depends where in connecticut you go. towns near the shore such as fairfield and old saybrook were hit pretty hard. but if go inland like in Hartford you will not notice much.  roads are open. just railroads are disrupted.

Huntington got hit real bad. Soooo many trees down. Our house came out fine. No power and lipa said at least 10 days because something about substations down and the streets havent been cleared near us or the wires and they have to do that first.

Gman ask your mom about the huge tree still blocking soundview

On the bright side while all of huntington pretty much didnt have power yesterday little vincents pizza was still cranking out pizza all day. Thank god for the small things in life :)

Hope everyone is safe and sound. Lost power at my home in White Plains but no damage. Most businesses still out of power here and tough to get around. I'm actually at a Cosi in New Rochelle right now charging up and bogarting some wifi. Hope you all stay safe.

Thank you MJ I appreciate it man. There was a substantial amount of damage done in my neighborhood and power will take awhile to be restored but we should be up on our feet soon enough.

This is correct. I'm about an hour from Boston and it was a rough couple of days but things are pretty much back to normal now.

I don't think I can take another 10 days of no power. Thats ridiculous. It's going to get a bit colder tomorrow. Not happy about the thought at a weekend in the 40's without power.
