Will be tough to beat Cooley again. Say what you want, the guy is a successful coach.
BE Record Under Cooley
Year 1: 4 - 14
Year 2: 9 - 9
Year 3: 10 - 8
Year 4: 10 - 8
Currently 9 - 8
Since Cooley's first year, he has not had a losing record in the BE conference. He's led them to the NCAA tournament over the last 3 consecutive years. People said he would be nothing without Bryce Cotton. Then they said he would be nothing without LaDontae Henton.....then nothing without Ben Bentil.......now it's Kyron Cartwright.
At some point, like him or not, the guy has to be considered a good coach.

Putting his sore loser persona aside, he does have a good eye for kids who play hard & develop over four years. Net of Dunn & Ledo (who never played), he has not successfully recruited the big name prospects, but manages to get solid, under recruited guys like Henton & Cotton. He also plays transfer game well.
It would be great to get our second sweep of the season, should be a close one.
The St. John's loss appears to be the turning point in the season for the Friars. Their only losses since then are 2 to Nova where the game was a point or two with a minute to go and an overtime heartbreaker at SHU. Completely different team since the St. Johns loss. That being said I don't think we can stop your wonderful guards if they shoot like they did in Providence.
You have nothing to gain by playing Owens, IMO. Let him rest up, and be ready for Georgetown.I'm not impressed with Providence. We pretty much lineup well with them. No scary big men, just stay on their three point shooters, Lindsey and Carthwright. Owens and Madison Square Garden will help though.
Really want to win this game.
Important to finish regular season out on a strong note.
Then focus should be on Georgetown. Winning a game in BET is needed its been awhile.
Fan base should show up, plenty of tickets available for under $10 bucks and a 7pm on a Wednesday night should be a easy night.[/quote
Not an either or, win them both! ]
Not much to gain, but a lot to lose, imo. Don't want to risk further injury (though with ankles, it's almost always a risk). Would like to beat Gtown, and play a competitive game vs. Nova. What do they have to gain by resting him. A run to the BET title?

Can't play scared. I'm sure Mullin will play him only if he is fully recovered. Winning Saturday can only help going into the B.E.
