Providence (MSG), Sat., Feb. 1, 12 NOON, CBSSN

Guys have bad games Silly. What annoyed me the most about today’s game is the way we let up on defense and didn’t close this out the way we should have. There’s no excuse for the defense not being there. The shooting going in and out I can deal with. Guys not making some shots , throwing some ill advised passes, a bad foul here and there, it happens. The way they just stopped playing defense like the game was over and let Rahim kill us like that just can’t happen. We had a 16pt lead with 6 minutes left. Let’s just hope that this game was a lesson for them. To me besides winning, the best thing about today is that we shot 33.3% from 3 even with Wilcher’s struggles. Thats where we need to be.
I agree regarding Scott but when was the last time Wilcher had a good shooting game? Rick better figure this out cause against a “good” team, you can’t have so many empty possessions.

It looks worse than it was when one guy goes unconscious from three. I wouldn't put much stock in this, it's a W.

Great teams execute in big moments. A 20 point win wouldn't prove as much as having 1 possession +3 to win a tie game, and running the shot clock all the way down with the guy you wanted with the ball in his hands.

Anyone want to stand by their bullshit expert commentary from December about this kid.

A milllion $$? Is that all? Lol
Yes I standby that he played poorly early in the year

Thankfully he’s in shape now and playing extremely well

To me the story today was, you can be a good team with stars like Richmond, Zuby and RJ. But to be great you need your other key rotation guys to contribute as well

we were all happy to see smith back, but IMO he really really hurt us today. Him and Wilcher combine for 3-20 on the day. Scott had his worst day probably all year too.

What’s huge for us going forward is figuring how to get Wilcher and smith looks that are good looks for them. Smith should improve as he gets more comfortable being back out there. Wilcher we need to see if we can get him curling off some screens, preferably around the elbow. These threes are front rimming.

Happy with the win. Kadary is the man
Not really sure how much better of looks we can get for Wilcher. His looks have been pretty damn good all year. He’s just missing them

Let’s be honest , Smith was terrible today too .1-10 is just awful . I know he’s rusty but , hey if he’s not playing well , let him sit .
Scott was a zero again . Wilcher disappointing .
Perhaps, but Scott was just out of sync and Smith’s timing was just off and will be fine but Wilcher has been disappointing since conference play started.

No Jack. Guys weren't saying he was playing poorly. That was obvious. Guys were saying he is slow, lazy, a poor defender, can't shoot and cherry picked his stats from his prior two years to say th a t was inconsistent and a fluke. If those were your assessments, then. I admire your honesty but not your accumen.

Another way to look at it is we won despite only getting production from 3 guys. Nobody else showed up today and Scott was severely limited because of foul trouble so he couldn't impact the game defensively. Frankly I'd prefer half our rotation to be useless against providence but show up against puconn and marquet.

We won by the skin of our teeth, but we won. This week coming up, we find out what this team is really made up. We need all hands on deck. Let the guys stink up the garden today and come out hungrier starting on Tuesday.

Yeah I wouldn’t bash the defense that kid Rahim was just in the zone today 8-11 the rest of the guys like Pierre and Joseph we held to 1-7 each from 3 it just sucks that both the ones they made were late in big spots.
He scored 4x his season average. Sometimes these things happen. We move on with the win and that's what matters most, but I feel like some guys here who shall remain nameless won't be able to let it go.

Where did abdur-rahim and Fernandez come from? With Joseph being kept in check--until a late 3--these guys almost pulled it out for them. It's good to sweep PC, even if we won in such close fashion in both games.
