I think Butler will do better.

A couple of BE road wins would be a step in right direction. A total of 7 or 8 I agree would be fine.

9-9 bubble team. Twitter leaks a bracket on Selection Sunday that has us in the play-in game but it was a hoax. Hearts are broken, we play in the NIT and make it to the semi-finals. Very positive step for the program nonetheless

I think we are better than DePaul, Marquette, Providence. Big question will be how we stack up against Seton Hall and Georgetown. Hoyas trending in a tumultuous direction, hopefully that continues.

2. XAVIER
3. BUTLER
4. SETON HALL
5. ST. JOHN'S
6. CREIGHTON

Felix Balamou, Jones, M'ouvika, Johnson are not on the team anymore. We are going from slow mo to fast and furious. The impact of Bashir, Shamorie and Marcus Lovett will be significant. Sima, Yakwe and Owens will have gained some muscle and bench of 4 kids that played a lot of minutes will surprise many here.

Pretty good predictions and I realize the Blue Demons don't deserve much respect but DEAUL? ;) :)

There's two ways to look at it. We know what we got with Sima and Yakwe, two impressive projects who still have a lot of development to do. After that all the major pieces for next year haven't played a game in D1, besides Owens whose play has been limited and ancient history at this point and maybe Williams gets into the 8 man rotatoin, he's got all of 3 games under his belt. You can expect all the new guys to play like the top newcomers in the conference, in which case you'll obviously be highly optimistic, or you can expect thew newcomers to play like newcomers, flashes of good, flashes of not so good. Should the guards be better than Ellison and Mussini were this year? Sure. Should they be as good as any of the top rated BE front courts with equal talent and more experience from the past season? I and others think that's unlikely and therefore see it as a growing year.

Big question to me is a possible multiplier effect. How much better are the guys we already saw when being fed by two ball handlers who can also score?

That's where I think someone like Mussini could potentially shine. Lovett and Ponds should be able to feed him the ball in much better spots, and he can just spot up and shoot.

Surprised to see that the expectations are so low for next year.

For me, I prefer not to be disappointed. :)

It's much, much worse than that. Most of us expect to be disappointed, and set our expectations accordingly.

I've continually said this is a 4 year road to the NCAAs. Based on adjusted expectations here, next season we miss the NITs, year 3 we go to NITs and do fairly well. Year 4, dance!

I think we can make the NCAA tourney. .500 or a little better in the big east. We have play makers and point guards next season. We would have had 4-5 more wins LAST season with Lovett alone

Unless Lovett and Ponds can separate themselves from Mussini and Ellison and play some 30 minutes a game I don't see how SJU could finish in top six. Mussini and Ellison will no doubt show some improvement but if they play 20 minutes a game vs Big East guards that will not be a good sign.
