Pregame drink spots for Johnnies games.

Queens-Iguanas
NYC-Blarney Rock or Stout

What about for folks that can't make it to every game, but can watch games at their local watering hole. Are there any known St. John's bars in the other boroughs and burbs? If not, should we conduct a poll and designate a bar in the following locations for SJU fans to meet up and watch the games, if they can't make it to MSG or campus: Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut.

Mods, I know, I know, this may need to be a new thread.

Since I'm in Nassau, Long Island, here are my choices: Novita (not a sports bar but they have good food, and quite a few TV's) Croxley's (good beer selection and good food), or Your Mother's House (food is okay, but there's a gazillion large tv’s)

how about Mulcahys in wantagh. it has it all - TVs, drinks and "talent" lol

Where does everyone go for pre and post game drinks? Near Campus the only bar i'm familiar with that is still in business is Iguanas, what other options are out there? Around MSG there are obviously plenty of options but Jack Demseys' is my favorite bar in Manhattan and it's close enough to MSG that it would be pretty hard to tempt me aware from Vinnie and staff. Anyways where does everyone else go?

thirsty fan at msg which was iriish times

They're under renovation now. I like the blarney around the block

What ? changing ownership again ?

Not entirely sure but they've been closed for about 2 months now. My coworkers and I used to stumble in there once in a while for lunch

Hopefully they are up and running soon for Knicks, Rangers, Sju crowds.
I like that place a lot.
Was packed for the BE tournament.

And even when it's packed you can still move around in the place. You never get that claustrophobic get the f out of my way feel

The place was huge compared to the bars around there but it was never exactly the packed place for rangers / knicks games. Always wondered why...

My era at Union & Utopia was Poor Richards Pub, great burgers!

I think the Sly Fox was coming in as I was moving on. Sorry to hear it is no more.

My pre-Game Garden spot is the bar at Keen's under the great painting, over the bar, of naked Miss Keen's.

Other favorites near the Garden: Foley's (great MLB bar), Rattle and Hum, The Ginger Man (great craft beer bars).

O'Reilly's and Tir' Na Og. I met the TV police crime reporter Mike Sheehan there (a Jaspar fan)

Once again being the bearer of bad news... Tir' Na Og is under renovation as well. They do have a location closer to times square though.

Because Moses Thambuswamy can't be the only one to bear bad news.....
Mustang Sallys is closed as well for the past couple of months. No sign says why, hopefully it's for renovations.

You guys are serious buzzkills. ( pun intended ) :)

I stayed downtown last night to play it safe since it seems every bar near the garden according to you guys is closed

Try The Flying Puck right down the street from Garden. Packed for Ranger games but manageable for SJU. Decent food too.
