Pregame drink spots for Johnnies games.

Where does everyone go for pre and post game drinks? Near Campus the only bar i'm familiar with that is still in business is Iguanas, what other options are out there? Around MSG there are obviously plenty of options but Jack Demseys' is my favorite bar in Manhattan and it's close enough to MSG that it would be pretty hard to tempt me aware from Vinnie and staff. Anyways where does everyone else go?

Not entirely sure but they've been closed for about 2 months now. My coworkers and I used to stumble in there once in a while for lunch

Not trying to sound like a jerk because this is a very good topic, but the topic should be focused on spots around Carnesecca. Around MSG there are literally 50 places within 500 yards of MSG, I mean it is Manhattan for Pete's sake. The Sly Fox was great, but is The Iguana the only place within walking distance of campus to grab a beer and a burger before or after the game?

You mean to grab a margarita and a taco.

All kidding aside, they have excellent tacos.

Not really many options around campus... the surrounding neighborhoods are getting spruced up though so i would expect something soon.

In the other direction (west) there's Parson's Ale House, but it's about a mile away from CA, Iguana is considerably closer.

Queens-Iguanas
NYC-Blarney Rock or Stout

What about for folks that can't make it to every game, but can watch games at their local watering hole. Are there any known St. John's bars in the other boroughs and burbs? If not, should we conduct a poll and designate a bar in the following locations for SJU fans to meet up and watch the games, if they can't make it to MSG or campus: Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut.

Mods, I know, I know, this may need to be a new thread.

Since I'm in Nassau, Long Island, here are my choices: Novita (not a sports bar but they have good food, and quite a few TV's) Croxley's (good beer selection and good food), or Your Mother's House (food is okay, but there's a gazillion large tv’s)

I know Bourbon Street in Bayside and Austin Ale House in Kew Gardens are owned by SJU Alums; as is Trinity in Floral Park and Stout / Feile in Mahattan. The former owner of Sly Fox bartends at The End Zone in Whitestone. All are good choice to watch away games.

If Parson's is only a mile or so down the road that isn't bad at all. Definitely worth a look. In the meantime I will check out the tacos at Iguana!

Still bummed about Sly Fox, I thought that really was a great spot. Hopefully more places start to pop up soon.

Novita is across the st from my office and it's a great place with a lot of room so for early away games during the week I can make that one. Otherwise for later away games I gotta look closer to where I live in huntington

So did the landlord…

And of course in the borough called Boca Raton we have discovered Talia's Table, owned by former STJ second basemen Frank Tedisco (sp.).
