Just for fun.

Then after 10-yrs we cou"See I told yould all look back, and some could say: " See I told you so, that he would win 2NCs."

I'll do my prediction later tonight.
I'll put this thread in my favorites.

5 tournament appearances, one Elite 8. 3 NIT. 2 Big East tournament titles. Some elite talent early on. Won't make us elite but will do enough to keep most people satisfied.

Edit: although frankly what he does first week, month, year, two years would be a lot more interesting because nobody will remember or care about this thread in ten years.

I'm not sure there will be NCAA basketball as we know it in 10 years.
So I prefer a 5 year outlook.

3 NCAA tournament appearances; min 1 Sweet Sixteen
2 NIT appearances
1 BE tournament title

True. I think in ten years it's very possible the:Football 5 split. But I also think they'll invite a few conferences and teams, including Big East, to participate in a new tournament. Can't have a proper tournament without UConn, Georgetown, Nova, Gonzaga, etc. The question will be what schools and/or conferences. Still a ways off though if it happens.

Rather than predict the next 10 years, let me look backwards and see what Mullin has accomplished in about a day - bring back thousands of fans, including reporters.

A better question is what are the odds that Mullin will coach at SJU for 10 years?

Agreed! Here is the question I have been wondering all along. What are the realistic expectations for him? If in 5yrs his track record is very similar to Lavin's, do we extend him or do we fire him?

3 world cup soccer championships
2 Kentucky Derbies WIns
2 Indianapolis 500 trophies
1 Knighthood from the Queen
1 Canonization
and 17 MSG sell outs.
In other words, things have gotten 'over the top" in 48 hours.
But, I guess that's fine..we all need to sense the sunshine after so many years.

You're absolutely right about not knowing the state of college hoops in 10 years. Given the greed factor, the Super 5 may be gone by then. Besides, some of us older fans (you know, the ones with the flip-phones and the memories of Leroy Ellis) probably see five years as a long-enough time span to consider. That said, your projections may be a bit optimistic (the way things stand, I'm not sure about postseason play next year), but not unachievable ... although once we get rolling, I'd like to see us do better than going to one Sweet Sixteen in five years.

6ncaa appearances, 3 sweet 16s, 2elite 8s, and 1 F4 appearance,
Win 2 B.E conf Tourny championships and Top25 most years.

Anything more would be butters

11 national championships

3 NIT appearances
3 Big East titles
4 sweet 16s
2 final fours
1 national title

Wow, this thread is a bummer. I'm expecting eight tournament appearances.

Well I'm just thinking Villanova Gonzaga and VCU, good coaches, top regular season teams, top 10 teams excluding VCA , ncaa every year, but nova made the F4 just once, Zaga got close.

If I'm thinking with my heart I'm saying: 4 F4s and 2 NCs, but that's not likely.
