I hope I am wrong but I think we get blown out.  Hard to beat the same team twice, let alone a top 10 team
The 11.5 spread is terrifying.  It screams "take St Johns".

Vegas thinks we r getting blown out too.

Bad news:
Nova is a better team than us which makes it hard to beat them twice;
They are going to be very motivated as we didn't just beat them but embarrassed them;
Wright's a great coach and has had plenty of time to study Butler & Depaul game tapes.

Good news:
Home court advantage is not what it was pre-pandemic;
We are playing for our post season lives and should be super motivated;
We match up well with Nova as they are not particularly quick and don't really have a traditional big to punish us inside.

I'm not expecting a win but it's certainly not out of the question. Let's go JOHNNIES!

If this season has taught us anything it is to expect the unexpected.

I did not expect St. John's to be, at this point, 14-9, 8-8 in BE,  having won 8 of its last 11 games, and being percentage points behind 4th place in the conference.

For this game,
I hope they stay close and pull it out at the end.

Both teams come out with a lot of energy and shots fall. Could see us playing even for the first 3/4s of the game before they pull it out. Swider and Gillespie shoot like nova players usually shoot vs us and combined for over 30.

In SJU win over Nova, Wildcats shot from perimiter for most part with less than stellar results. Since Butler and De'Paul abused us with driving and scoring in paint, one could expect to see them employ more dribble penetration and post ups imo, Gillespie in particular. Go Johnnies!

I think there is a good chance that SJ wins. I expect a good game. The only things that worries me is if it's close, VU ;is more likley to pull it out at the end than our guys.

Agreed but this is a tough spot for them.

can't see Nova losing twice this particular season. I subscribe to the thought that we are a year ahead of schedule. This team has shown they have what it takes to play competitively and win some- another year of maturity while hopefully keeping the core together should turn those tough Ls into Ws- top3 BE type season.

i expect Nova to rebound mightily from the loss they took a couple weeks back- Wright having his team ready, and Nova providing a knockout punch to our postseason dreams. 20pt loss (hope im wrong obviously)

CMA has his guys rebound with 2 wins to close out the season- following with a loss in the BE conf semis (just enough to tease us on Selection Sunday)

Tough to see Nova shooting as poorly from deep as they did the first game. Gillespie will try to back into the paint, pump draw a foul, or high soft fade shot. We gotta get our D in order.

Our backs are firmly against the wall.  Have to show that we belong at this point.  I think we are still in the hunt for a bud, but we have some tough games ahead.  It's been a solid season regardless at this point but I don't want to see us roll over just yet.

Don't think it will be a case of us rolling over- more so Nova working it inside-out, getting buckets around the rim to start and then lighting it up from 3, which we all know they can.

My expectation is that SJU will come ready to play.  However, it is also my expectation that Nova will come ready to play - they've seen us before so they will be better prepared, they're home, and of course there's a revenge factor.

With both teams coming ready to play, the edge goes to Nova because they are the better team.  Think SJU will do well to beat the Vegas line.

Butler and DePaul - wow they were what they were - lousy, painful losses.

Now,
I do not see this coach, this team, these players rolling over any time ever!
One thing we now are is a group that cares and plays hard. And a group that opponents would just as soon avoid.

As you and others have hinted it already has been a successful season, we probably will be in some tournament and move on to just as good or better year in 2021-22.

I agree Lawman. Line 11.5, if they keep this game under 10 that's a good night all things considered. I think there's an outside chance that we might be able to keep it close and steal it at the end because we do match up well with them but to do that we are going to have to shoot well from three. We need Earlington to have one of his good Earlington games, Cole to shoot well from 3 and we need to get something from GWill. I think Posh and Dunn will bounce back.

If nothing else, I'm thankful it's an 8 o'clock rather than 9 o'clock start and I'm sure BJR shares that sentiment.

In honor of today's road game, a program from 1969 at the Villanova Field House.  I was all of 14, taken there by my brother on a Tuesday night no less.:

Every game is a huge and a must win game now.

And please cma if someone is having a horrible game, don't  play him the whole 2nd half, whether it's Dunn, Posh, Williams, champ or whoever it is.

I'm sorry but you just can't do that especially with the importance of every game  now.
