Need to stop the bleeding tonight and get a SH split to give the kids a boost before losing all confidence. Put the excuses away re Johnnies being a tough place to win, poor fan support, facilities void, the team has not come together yet, the huge task of integrating nine new players, etc. and beat a gritty, not elite SH at their band box. No one in the BE is going to throw SJ a pity party. Time to show we are breathing and we have a decent enough roster to take this one and proceed through the BE gauntlet with some degree of positivity.

Re facilities, it is clear SJ trails badly, but waiting for improvement to come to fruition before expecting a successful program seems folly. In the interim, it is all about getting good players and I expect staff to expend great energy to raise the bar in recruiting and transfer management to offset sub par facilities until sufficient $ is raised to upgrade the latter. Btw, in transfer mania era presently, it becomes imperative to manage the process like free agency. If not, it will be another negative precluding staying in step with other BE teams. Look at Providence’s roster and stats and notice the impact their “free agents” have had in the last two seasons.

I was trying to see if Bryce Aiken was playing tonight and came across the fact that he is 25 years old?  He makes Theo John seem young.

St. John's has not faced many (any?) Big East teams that were at 100% strength this year, and that appears to be the case again tonight. It seems every team we face is missing one or more of their best players. Absolutely no excuses, we need to win this one.

Went with Johnies +11 and over 148. As a bettor I'll be happy with a close and high scoring game, but as a fan anything less then a W would solidify this season as a huge disappointment. Something tells me we are on our game tonight, and pull out a win.

I think a bet against st John's is the best way to make money to pay for the overpriced season tickets

I heard you the first time lol

IF…

We don’t invite Richmond to shoot from the perimeter
We don’t invite Yetna to put the ball on the floor and attack his poor handle
We don’t invite Obiagu to receive the ball 3+ feet from the basket
We fall for a single shot fake from Richmond

we just aren’t paying attention

Santa  Claus makes Theo John seem young, period.

It's pretty simple. The key to us winning is keeping the other team out of the paint and making our free throws, two basic basketball tenants that we never seem to be able to exercise.

I'm feeling pretty good about this one. I felt the same way last game, but this time it's different, because I'm really feeling good about it. Champagnie scores 51 and we win by seven. Four posters who shall remain nameless complain that we needed Champagnie to score 51 in order to win, and that it was only by seven.

Pinzon out.  No surprise there.  Sounds like Aiken is out as well.  Another gift from heaven for SJU.  If they lose again to SH w/o there best player, my goodness.

Feeling good too. For me it's simply about law of averages. We're due.

I accept we will get outrebounded tonight. But let's get outrebounded by 10 not 20.

Also, SH had 20 offensive rebounds on Saturday. Let's get that down to 10.

I figure this will give us a puncher's chance.

Too many fans are feeling good about the game. Either it's a great vibe or it's just our bipolar nature.

I'm feeling good about this game as well. I had the wrong shirt on on Saturday. I have the right shirt on tonight.
