Based on all these concerns about beating Monmouth, maybe we should hold off on the 'National Championship' talk until at least next season?
Not a very productive post. There doesn't appear to be any super teams out there this season so why not us?
Yeah, on 2nd thought, you're right. Plus we'll be peaking at just right time to make a run. Hey, you know where I can get final 4 tickets on the cheap?

Really excited for tomorrow night.  A chance to see the new look starting lineup again and a pretty good team coming into Carnesecca.

I do not believe St Johns will look past this team and although I think it stays pretty close throughout, I believe St Johns covers the spread with some late free throws.

This is going to be a much tougher game than I initially thought when I first saw the schedule. Monmouth has better wins than St Johns after winning away at Cincinnati & St Joe’s. Based on how inconsistent we’ve looked, no reason for them not to think they can come to Queens and get a win. I think we’re going to see a confident Monmouth team who will be very motivated to make a statement against one of the local high majors. Well coached, they have great momentum and trio of Reynolds, Pappas and the UNC kid all experienced and playing well.

All this being said if we want to be a Top 3 or 4 team in the Big East, this is a game we have to be able to win. I’ll take any win in this one but double digits would be nice. One of the few noncon games that can actually move the needle for us in the NET. Hopefully the new starting 5 continues to make a difference & the guys who have lost time are motivated to prove themselves.

We covered 1st 3 games, have not covered last 5. So law of averages says we cover. I think we do too, but not enough to put money on it. I'll just be happy with a W

This is as close to a must win game as you can get.  If St Johns were to lose this game, we would have a ton of ground to make up on most of the big east teams.  A loss in any of these last 3 out of conference games and St johns would have to do exceptional in Big East play to make the tourney.

Lets get it tonight boys.  There really is no room for error.

I know there has been a lot of pot stirring by Zach about our OOC schedule, but to me at least, we played 2 very good teams (Indiana and Kansas), two very well coached teams (Neptune at Fordham, Kennedy at NJIT), and now a very good mid major in Monmouth.   Not exactly all patsies no matter what Kenpom says.   A well coached team short on talent can give you fits and may be better to play than a more talented poorly coached team.

I'm heading out to dinner soon and then off to Carnesecca. Think this will be a good game, for you gamblers out there I wouldn't bet on it.
