Marquette has come back down to earth after looking like one of the best teams in the bi east for awhile there.  Really got manhandled by Depaul in the 2nd half last night.

A win here would be a really nice way to go into the tourney with some momentum and confidence.  A win at Marquette would be a real big east win.

I would assume Coburn gets the start at shooting guard.  Not ideal to still be tweaking your lineup at his point in the season but thats what we do.

I think this game will tell us alot about this team.  If we win, I think we can beat Depaul and then who knows what to expect vs Nova.  We lose here and I think Depaul sends us home Wed night.

Will Coburn get another start in this game?

Duke man-crushes, 2022 edition:

Drew Valentine
Tony Stubblefield
Tareq Coburn

Am I missing any?

Potential new handle:  Valentine Stubble Burn

we need our fastest lineup with guys who can finish at the rim.

guys like stanley and mathis will need to step up.  we should have a lot of open looks around the basket if we can break the press.

This a meaningless game also?

No.  Marquette is a real basketball team.  We beat them on the road and our confidence should be high heading into Wed.

Big East games straight through from noon - 11:30 at night Saturday. Good warmup for next week.

In a season where we broke the Hinkle curse, won at the Cintas Center why not beat @Marquette and make it a Midwestern Trifecta.

He certainly earned it …. and break out the grey uniforms again.

Not sure Beast.  I hope you're right but I thought it looked like Soriano tweaked his knee towards the end of the X game.  Hopefully its nothing serious because we did seem to miss his presence.

If we win this one, we will be entering the big east tournament coming off our biggest win of the year.

Im most interested to see if MA has learned his lesson and realized how important it is to have a 2 guard out there whos 3 point shot has to be respected.  Even if coburn is off tom, he has to play 25 minutes minimum.

The defense extending out to guard coburn  opens up the lane for guys like posh, champy and joel to do damage.

To me, thats the key to this game, the rest of the season and this program for the rest of the MA era.

I have a if question . After we win tomorrow we would be 9 - 10 and Marquette would be 10 - 9 wouldn't the postponed game then mean something to us ? Remember just a IF question.

No because we dont have a shot at an at large bid.  Our resume is too weak.

Thanks Duke but what I am getting at is the postponed game would be our chance to be 10 - 10 tied with Marquette for 6th , That would give us 6th and play someone else first round in the BET. Like i said just a what if. But I do think we can beat Marquette.

Yes, that would get us the 6th seed and on Providences side of the bracket which I believe is easier then Novas side.

But at this point, missing that game is not really a big deal.  It would have been if we were close to the bubble.  But we aren't.
