What a great post. Especially on this really cold day to watch

remember that game like yesterday - I was a sophomore and a bunch of us went

* obviously classic game Crowd insane - crowds like that have been rare over past 20 plus years

* one buddy who came with us.  Just not a big sports fan - despite insane crowd. He never got into game.    Only see him once in the blue moon now   But we still bust chops

We better win, my son who's a freshman at SJU saw 5 players at a bar on bell Blvd last night all not wearing masks, I get the college experience thing but these kids just came off a 2 week pause. Hopefully a non issue but time will tell..... go Johnnie's

If true, disappointing.

Yeah should be an easy win, though that line is almost identical to the Pitt and UConn games (in reverse of course), both of which came down to the final plays. Conference games seem to often be toss-ups regardless of the line.

That said, I do have a feeling St. John's easily wins this one. Not sure if they'll cover, but I'd be surprised if this comes down to a final play.

There are no easy wins in St. John's land.....

Very true, but this is the type of game they usually seem to win to reel the fanbase back in (see: DePaul game), and also Georgetown is simply a bad team. I'm predicting a double digit win and a lot of (misguided) optimism from fans immediately after. :)

IMHO, next 2 games are huge. We have to win tomorrow but if we can get a win at Creighton, which I don't think is a bad matchup for us, we will be right back in the middle of things.

Can't imagine that Ewing is going to be at Georgetown much longer unless things improve.  26-45 in big east play, 68-66 overall.     Being a good college HC not an easy job.

My satellite provider doesn't have Fox. Any way to watch the game online? No way any local Florida bars are going to put it on.
Where in Florida are you?

South Florida.  A bit south of  Fort Lauderdale.

Which is why to me, his Big East tournament last year was fool's gold. Reading the comments on this board last year, there was so much praise for Ewing at that time for his time at Georgetown. But in reality it's been a very shaky tenure. He's recruited at a high level but many have transferred out. The shock Wahab transfer last year was the icing on the cake.

IMO a lot of the praise directed at Ewing was because he was a pro assistant whereas Mullin never sat on the bench (even as a player). While being a pro assistant counts for something, it has little to due with the rigors of recruiting, retaining, and developing college athletes not to mention being an authority figure and keeping them happy.

Being a college assistant prepares you better, but even being a successful college coach at a lower level doesn't ensure success.

Ewing hasn’t had much trouble getting high talent to G’Town. Over the last few years , Akingo , McClung , Wahab, Mutumbo , Drummond to name a few . Problem has been keeping them . Drummond , a frosh was highly ranked . He’s still there . For now .  Louis Orr , is handling the team in Patrick’s protocol . Dont   know who is on bench today .    College BB has turned into near Free Agency .  Akingo has been at Arizona and , now Baylor in his Career . 3 Schools , 4 years .  Don’t know if he’s a NBA player , otherwise he would have left this past season .

I am looking at tickets on Stubhub and guessing today's attendance is going to be poor.  I can't remember seeing seats to a MSG game so cheap.

Unfortunately, the school may take a bath on today's game.

The most pleasing part of playing Georgetown the past couple of years is being unchained and freely (sports) hating Patrick Ewing again.

I'm totally with you and could never fully embrace Ewing as a Knick because of Georgetown.

The only thing that's keeping attendance from being an embarrassment is Covid.   I didn't check the actual attendance, but UCONN seemed to draw very well when we played there this past week.
