I'm in NYC next week and totally bummed that both the next 2 games are away.

GT frosh guards playing well, but no match for our cadre. Pressure them! Advantage inside w Govan for Hoyas, but if our D is amped like last night & Keita gives modest minutes, SJU prevails by 8-10 points.

Their top 3 scorers (Govan and 2 guards) all shoot above 80% from foul line so important to try to keep them off the line. Team shoots about 74%.from line.

Looking forward to the fact this game is CBS and I don't have to read about who doesn't get what channel ;)

It all starts with Govan. He’s clearly the best Big Man in the Big East and will be handful for anybody that tries to guard him. I expect Sedee and Marvin Clarke to struggle all night.

The second thing we need to worry about is Akinjo. The kid is only 18 and he’s already a high level Big East point guard ( huge steal by Patrick). Even though he’s 18 you have to put Simon on him all game because he can control tempo and get to the basket.

Mclung is the wild card here. Is he going to be the Mclung who dropped 38 against Little Rock or is he going to struggle with his shot?

* Sidenote: Has Patrick given an update on his ankle?

This should be a close game since it’s their homecourt season opener.

Let Govan get his 20 points and contest 3’s by their guards. We can easily make up the difference by hitting our 3’s at a decent clip.

I am waiting for CBS to respond to my email, regarding If game will be shown in HD

Keep Govan outside. He’s actually very good from the perimeter, but he likes it a bit too much. If he’s taking long shots, it will be harder to beat us from there. Keep him out of paint. Having Sedee back really helps here because he’s mobile enough to defend all the way out.

I still have a tube TV with rabbit ears. Will I be able to watch the game in HD? Will the game be broadcast in technicolor?

On road in particular staff is likely going to need to lengthen rotation slightly. There will be games where you need the first five to play the minutes they have the last two games - and both games may have been ones where it was warranted - but it has to be selective as 4 guys getting 35+ minutes isn't likely to be sustainable over an 18 game conference slate. Particularly true away from home where you don't have the crowd energy and fatigue can creep in a little easier. Also especially true when you are a max defensive effort team like this one that is also playing way bigger than it is on backboards out of sheer athleticism and determination.

Nothing crazy but slightly more than 30 and 27 minutes from the bench combined which is what the first two games have been.

I think as Keita gets readjusted and with Williams showing genuine signs of development you could see them emerge as15-20 (Keita) and 10+ (Williams) MPG guys which would be massive. Trimble continues to provide quality minutes even if it doesn't show up in the box score and hopefully Dixon gets increasingly comfortable. That's pretty good depth and has the makings of a real rotation.

Again talking in the aggregate, not individual games. Thought staff worked rotation fantastically last night in a critical home game, and there will be games we need Ponds and maybe others for 40.

But against SHU I thought there might have been a few opportunities in the first half to try to save legs for late. Easy to say in hindsight knowing we ran out of steam, and even easier to say without Keita and with Williams/Dixon playing their first Big East game in a packed arena on road. All acknowledged, but now that we got critical split in first two hoping we see slightly broader minutes distribution late first / early second half not just for legs, but also for foul situation which is likely something to be managed all year.

Just wait for it.

FYI per Rothstein

Georgetown's Mac McClung (ankle) and Trey Mourning (concussion) will both not play tonight against Butler, per a school spokesman

The Hoyas are turnover prone. Watch the steals on Saturday .Keep Govan boxed out and away from the basket.

Only if you wrap the rabbit ears in tin foil.

Even playing his first game on the road did not stop Williams from looking comfortable and confident. This kid is a player.

G*Town up by 8,24 - 16@ Butler , 1st half.
2 quick buckets by Butler, now 24-22.
Xavier leading Seton Hall 42-38 at the Half. Good!

I don't care if we're #38 with only one vote if we win at Georgetown then I expect to be in the top25 come Monday.
We then should be 15-0, but because of the refs we're not. That would be some major bs
