Zero confidence in this team moving forward...wouldn't be surprised if they go 0-for the rest of the way. The saturday loss was a heartbreaker, but it's rinse and repeat. Too many holes, too much lack of talent. Coaches sub patterns have left me mind boggled. Very sad season

Thanks for sharing.  Group hug at 5 PM.

Virtual hug you mean, right?

Definitely virtual.
Thanks for clarifying. I definitely don't want to hug Moose.

After the last 11 months i think you woud love to hug me right about now.

But I digress.

UConn could be bumped from the Top 25 rankings due to teams behind them playing well. Really want this game to remain ranked since we have a decent shot at winning and it's on Fox.

For all of you gluttons for punishment, we have a doubleheader special today:

Knicks vs. Magic at Noon on NBATV
Johnnies and UCONN at 2:30 on Fox.

Hope for the best and...

Zach B
St. John's-UConn line has dropped a few points. Down to 7 from 9.5

Amazing dialogue between Clyde and Mike Breen about MLk, race relations. etc.  Clyde one of my idols growing up, and someone who I've continued to admire immensely to this day as a person.

Agree Monte. Clyde seems to be a genuinely nice guy and was interestinng to hear him praise the way Bradley and Debusshere stood up for him and other African American players back in the 1960s. And from a basketball perspective, Imanuel Quickley seems to have perfected the floater that used to occasionally drive us crazy with LJ. I feel pretty confident it's going in when Quickley takes it.

He also mentioned Havlicek and Cousy. Had never heard that story about Wilt and Russell speaking the day after Dr. King was assassinated, and deciding to go ahead and play the game that night. Lots to admire about all of those men.
I knew that floater looked familiar lol

Clyde is where I get my fashion sense.  /media/kunena/emoticons/cool.png

Not to pull this thread too far off topic but I'm really enjoying listening to Walt reminsce about some of the old days and former NBA colleagues. Believe he just mentioned that he and Earl the Pearl both live in Harlem these day which I didn't know.

Clyde spends off season at his place in I believe the Virgin Islands.

At the fundraiser for the Lapchick statue, the Knicks sent a pretty decent contingency to the dinner, including Frazier, Earl Monroe, and John Starks.   (I brought some great photos of starks and Clyde.   Both graciously signed birthday greetings to my son on them, Starks on THE DUNK photo, and Clyde taking the ball to the hoop vs. Chamberlain.)

As I waited for Clyde, Keady approached him and had a really great conversation.  Keady told Clyde he had known Frazier's coach at Southern Illinois, which was fantastic since Frazier was already in his 70s.   He is pretty amazing looking in person for his age (he could have passed for 45), and he looked as if he could walk on the court and play even at that age.

When Frazier first began announcing, he didn't think he vocabulary was broad enough, so he carried a dictionary with him everywhere and studied it.   This is why Frazier uses unusual words to describe play, never cookie cutter jock phrases.   For someone as cool as Clyde, that would be like buying off the rack.
