When is D'Angelo getting his own Bobble head? You couldn't ask for a better representation of our University's values and culture.

This is a HUGE conference game. Start our schedule in a tough environment against a very good team. Looking at Butler’s stats, they are not a high scoring team and win with good defense and good defensive rebounding. They lead the league in scoring percentage. They are last in points per game yet first in scoring margin. They rely on slowing the game down, owning their defensive glass and making the most out their Half court possessions but a high scoring percentage. Cma’s teams rely on speeding you up so it’s a big contrast in styles. It’s gonna be hard for them to slow us down and we rebound very well. I think our style of play is gonna be hard on them and vice versa. We generally will likely have the athleticism advantage and definitely the depth advantage. A good home crowd can’t hurt. I think we win this one.

How long is the winter break? Isn't it mandated by NCAA regs?
Hopefully Mike and all the athletes were able to go home to see their families.

I'm sure that after the break practice for the Butler game will be intense.

Anyone think Butler having a cupcake game 2 days b4 the showdown with St johns is a benefit to them? We have a long layoff. Could be rusty.

We've come out strong, when we've had longer layoffs this year. A week in between the exhibition game, and the season opener. 5 days off between UMASS and Wagner. 7 days off between Brown and Albany. Those games following the layoffs, were three of our stronger performances, IMO.

Anderson seems to go to the full court pressure much earlier in the game following a long layoff, and that is where we are most effective.

We are going to need a big game from the duke against Butler. He came out like gang busters against AZ and had 7 points in like 3 minutes. Then he got into foul trouble and never got back in the flow until he eventually fouled out. Some of the fouls calls were real ticky tack as he was boxing out.

I think Heron is going to play, we could use a good game from him.Love the Duke, but only an auxillary piece. That said, he sure is efficient.

Agreed on Heron, he was close to playing Sat night. Its a given he will go NYE vs Butler.

Cant agree on the Duke. To me he needs to be out there 25 plus minutes a night.

It would be at the expense of Champagnie. Will trust CMA on this. Like I said and agreeing w you, we sure get nice production when Earlington is out there.

As long as they don’t lose the “energy” during the break this team will be ok. I really believe this team is about the energy. A little home crowd push and I expect this team will play well. The minute they don’t bring it, they will struggle. I know that seems simplistic but look at the difference between the 1st and 2nd half the other night. Team needs to keep pushing no matter what is happening. Just who they are.

Yeah, because nothing says values and culture like a bobble head doll!!
Sorry, just kidding but I couldn’t resist.

Sometimes i think we're in awe of teams like Arizona who they know are more talented then them, then in the 2nd half they're scared of messing it all up, and not getting a big time upset over a big time program.
Instead of saying we're up 14pnts on these chumps, we got this game.
All we gotta do is the exact same damn thing that we done the whole 1st half, and it's a wrap.

That's where we miss a Ponds, take over the first 3-4minutes of the 2nd half and let the rest of the know that everything will be ok, this game belongs to us.

No, we don’t - different team construct and philosophy. The fact is, Arizona is a good team, they made a run and unlike Arizona State, we stood up to it. Basketball is a game of runs many times resulting in a close game at the end. Just the way it is.

We see improvement in this team, game to game.

It’s a game of runs you can’t keep at talented team down for 40 mins ,yes we played well the 1st half ,but they did not. I would like to think we had something to do about it.Not taking anything away from our team But we did fall apart again and hung on that was the important part. But let’s not
Tthink we are going to jump to the top 3-4;in the big East although that would be great but for that to happen feel we need another very good shooter from deep. Thought that could have been carthera(spelling of his name probably wrong) Hope he comes on also what did you thing about Steere frankly was a bit disappointed just mo

We don’t miss Ponds at all. Giving him the ball and letting him dribble away the shot clock while everyone watched was awful basketball. This is so much more enjoyable
Wow they are a big team
.

Butler has a couple of big guys but the only one that really plays is Bryce Golden.

This is a tough one. 10 days after UofA big win. Butler is on tap. Not an easy task. Such is life in the B.E.
