Zach said he'll return for the Arizona.
I guess we'll really know on Wednesday.[/quote]

In a perfect world, we get Steere for Albany to get him some court time, Heron has time to get healthy and we don’t need him to beat Albany and we have both for Zona. Fingers crossed.

Albany 84 Niagara 80

Albany 6-6

It should be a competitive game with St John's. St John's should win this one by 10.

I’ve read and heard different things. Recently one broadcast (I forget the player but I think it might be Creighton’s Kelvin Jones, transfer from
Idaho), would eligible for their game tuesday which is a day before our wednesday game vs Albany. I don’t think it makes a massive difference either way, but getting Steere for Albany would be nice to get him in the court and makes sense if Jones is gonna be eligible Tuesday.

Creighton's last final exam was today. I think it must go by each school's calendar.

Unfortunately, I’ll be out of town again on Tuesday night. If anyone wants my two tickets, please pm me with your email address.

Sorry, the tickets are already spoken for.

St. John's opens as a 10.5-point favorite over Albany tomorrow.

Classic trap game. Coming off big win over a ranked WVU team at MSG and right before playing #16 Zona. Thankfully, it appears CMA and staff get the players to take everyone seriously but still haunted by the past. Something tells me it will be a little close for comfort but hoping we get a comfortable win, let Heron heal, then play with house money against Zona with nothing to lose going into conference play 10-3 worst case. FWIW, BPI matchup predictor says we have 84% chance vs. Albany and Arizona has about 84% chance winning against us. Not sure if the Arizona predictor includes Heron or assumes he's out. Either way obviously we will be heavy underdogs and their offense is averaging 50% FG which is insane. They can blow people out of the gym with it.

I expect this to be a tough game w/o Heron and not yet having Steere. Will be happy with a win, no matter how close.

Why such a late game time? 8:30?

That's the latest start so far this season?

A late start means even less time to recover and travel before Saturday's Arizona game. It's a late night game too.

Agree that this sets up like a classic trap game (for multiple reasons) While I want that 10 point win for the NET, I'm with NCJohnnie that coming out of tonight with any win at all is the priority. Have to just trust that this Coach won't let guys take games off mentally.

Win by a point and I'll be thrilled. Don't know why some (mostly on Twitter) are saying this is just another "cupcake" game. It isn't. Albany is ranked #214 on KenPom out of 353. In other words they're a slightly below average team. They're not an awful team in the 300's. Yes, we're favored in these games, but a 9 point line gives us around 80% odds of winning. If we played teams similar to Albany 10 times then we'd be expected to go 8-2 rather than 10-0. A lot of people seem to think it's the latter but that's not how odds work.

So far our OOC schedule has worked out really nicely for us. Can't complain about our #67 NET along with the Q1 win over WVU. Get past Albany and our OOC will be a big success regardless of what happens on Saturday.

While I agree with you mostly as well as the potential for a trap game, this is not one of the better Albany teams and I would be disappointed to not manhandle them in December. I think with or without Heron these guys need to show they are a team that takes care of business and executes. That is the identity of this team. They execute or they fail. No matter who the opponent is executing shows maturity and what type of character this team has. Good execution means there is identity and buy-in from the players and it will help momentum this close to conf. play and a big OOC travel game.
